The P/PTSD Perspective: New QB Trade Option, Don’t Draft Justin Jefferson, and FA Coming Back

PurplePTSD works in partnership with Vikings Territory, similarly doing their utmost to offer top-notch coverage of the Minnesota Vikings. As a result, we’re promoting five of their top articles of the past week in “The P/PTSD Perspective.” Take a peek at some of their best stuff.

The P/PTSD Perspective: April 19th, 2025

1) Looks Like a New Vikings QB2 Trade Option Is on the Market: Ideally, Minnesota won’t need to move into the trade market for a backup passer. After all, the team has been hard at work trying to accumulate more picks. Forfeiting even a late-round selection would be a hit to the total that the GM likely wants to avoid.

2) Why the Vikings Shouldn’t Have Drafted Justin Jefferson: Yes, yes, the title it obviously absurd. That’s the point, folks. So, too, is the logic being used to argue against drafting a safety high. Go ahead and give the piece a read to see if the argument makes sense.

3) Free Agent Willing to Run it Back with Vikings, Says the Player: Once again, Dalton Risner is moving through a strange amount of silence within his free agency. He can play guard at a starting level, but the market seems to be reluctant to hand over a large contract. Does he go back to Minnesota?

4) Former Viking and Potential Hall of Famer to Retire Next Week: Patrick Peterson has had a wonderful career. For a time, he was among the league’s elite corners (which is say nothing of what he could do on special teams). It’s a shame he didn’t get a Super Bowl in his career.

5) Ex-Vikings Draft Pick Dominates the UFL: Good for Mr. Willekes. Injury really hindered his progress when he was calling Minnesota home. Plays with a lot of energy and there was some optimism that he could end up being a really nice pick from the late rounds. Ideally, his current excellence will open another door in the NFL.
