PurplePTSD works in partnership with Vikings Territory, similarly doing their utmost to offer top-notch coverage of the Minnesota Vikings. As a result, weโ€™re promoting five of their top articles of the past week in โ€œThe P/PTSD Perspective.โ€ Take a peek at some of their best stuff.

The P/PTSD Perspective: October 4th, 2025

1) The Brian O’Neill Injury Update After the Week 4 Loss: Losing the stud at right tackle really stings. No replacing someone who plays at such a consistently high level, especially since the season is already underway. The good news is that the injury isn’t going to end his season.

2) Recently Hired Vikings Quarterback Appears Likely to Soon be Fired: Desmond Ridder almost certainly went into the Minnesota opportunity with clear eyes. He knows that the quarterback room is thin due to the J.J. McCarthy injury. Seeing McCarthy welcomed back likely means Ridder will be shown the door.

3) The Minnesota Vikings Appear to Demote Recent Trade Acquisition: A great pro, Adam Thielen isn’t the receiver he once was. The Vikings knew that when they brought him back. One still does wonder, though, if there was some hope for more. In particular, the drops here and there are something that Mr. Thielen needs to put behind him.

4) Kevin O’Connell’s Vikings Get Another Gut Punch: The hits just keep coming. Even the backup offensive linemen are succumbing to injury, meaning the team is reaching down into the third option and not just the second option. Surviving Week 5 before then going into a Week 6 bye is precisely what the Vikings need.

5) The Vikings’ Trade May Not Have Worked Out After All: Did Kwesi Adofo-Mensah feel like his leverage was slipping away? The GM pulled off the deal in the end but the price was, well, pricey. Any sense that the GM was misguided when he traded away some decent draft picks to bring in the older receiver?
