Our Official 2025 NFL Power Rankings

The NFL season is 11 days away, and the Philadelphia Eagles will defend their championship from a year ago.
Our official 2025 NFL power rankings have arrived, breaking down all 32 teams, their outlooks, and where they stand heading into the new season.
Those very Eagles begin that quest on September 4th against the Dallas Cowboys, and the NFL season will be off and running.
Therefore, it’s time to examine the league’s pecking order. Here are VikingsTerritory‘s 2025 NFL Power Rankings.
The Official 2025 NFL Power Rankings
From 32 to 1, here we go for the league pecking order.

32. Cleveland Browns
Rolling with 40-year-old Joe Flacco as a QB1 solution is stupid.
31. Indianapolis Colts
The Colts made news by announcing Daniel Jones as the QB1 this week, but that’s more of an embarrassment than anything. They’re eyeing the Arch Manning sweepstakes.
30. Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders’ wide receivers are terrible, and the QB spot doesn’t inspire confidence for the long term. They’ll also get beaten up by the Chiefs, Chargers, and Broncos.
29. New Orleans Saints
We shall see if Tyler Shough is any good. He’ll turn 26 next month, unbelievably old for a 2nd-Round rookie quarterback. If he doesn’t start now, what are we waiting for? His 27th birthday?
28. Tennessee Titans
Until the world learns if Cam Ward has the chops for the NFL, the Titans remain near the basement.
27. Carolina Panthers
The Panthers’ defensive line is terrible. It will doom them.
26. New York Giants

This team could get frisky with Brian Daboll pulling out all the stops while on the hot seat. It boils down to whether Jaxson Dart is ready for the big job and when New York hands him the scepter.
25. New England Patriots
We should probably rank a Mike Vrabel-led team higher than this, but it’s “believe it when you see it” on this Patriots roster.
24. New York Jets
Justin Fields will play better than ever before, but it’s not enough to crack the Top 20. We say 7-10 for wins and losses.
23. Miami Dolphins
It kind of feels like wheels might fall off Mike McDaniel this season. For his sake, hopefully not.
22. Chicago Bears
The Bears can probably make marked improvements with Ben Johnson, but their schedule is still murderous.
21. Seattle Seahawks
Sam Darnold’s 35-touchdown bliss won’t transfer to Seattle.
20. Atlanta Falcons

Michael Penix Jr. must take the next step, but the defense at his back is still concerning.
19. Arizona Cardinals
Quietly, the Cardinals showcased the NFL’s 10th-best offense in 2024 per EPA/Play. This team could turn the corner to the tune of a Wildcard playoff berth.
18. Jacksonville Jaguars
Liam Coen will cook with Trevor Lawrence and vice versa. The Jaguars also live in a comparatively bad division, making a 10-7 season achievable.
17. Pittsburgh Steelers
Aaron Rodgers is the major hinge for this team. People like to point to his volume stats in 2024, but he ranked 22nd among all passers per EPA+CPOE. He habitually ranked in the Top 5 from 2010 to 2021.
16. Dallas Cowboys
Folks are sleeping on Dak Prescott, not giving him enough credit to bounce back, particularly in fantasy football discussions. Dallas will finish around 9-8 or 10-7.
15. Denver Broncos
The defense will be hellfire, but this website has never fully believed in Bo Nix’s upside. It’s why we didn’t want him for the Vikings in the 2024 draft.
14. Houston Texans

The Texans would appear in the Top 10 if they had fixed their offensive line this offseason. It might’ve gotten worse.
13. Green Bay Packers
Green Bay always finds a way to stay relevant. It also has a brutal schedule like the other NFC North teams.
12. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
It’ll be a 10-7 finish for Baker Mayfield and friends, along with an NFC South title.
11. Minnesota Vikings
Kevin O’Connell has already established a reputation for cooking with any competent quarterback. Do we really think he bided his time for three years, seeking “his guy” for the long haul, only for the quarterback whisperer to pick the wrong guy? Naw. McCarthy will pan out for the Vikings.
10. San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers typically rebound right away from trashy seasons. That’s what will happen in 2025.
9. Los Angeles Rams
So long as Matthew Stafford is healthy, Los Angeles will finish in first or second place in the NFC West. The depth chart is solid, the coaching staff even better.
8. Washington Commanders
We’re tempted to forecast a regression here, but let’s give Washington the benefit of the doubt.
7. Los Angeles Chargers
Jim Harbaugh will use Year No. 2 to win a playoff game, unlike last season when the Texans ended their fun after virtually everybody picked Houston to lose.
6. Cincinnati Bengals
The Joe Burrow-led Bengals just can’t have back-to-back postseason-less seasons, right?
5. Detroit Lions

Detroit will slink back from the 15-2 record last year to 12-5 or so, and some will notice they’re not quite as dominant. But the roster remains impenetrable.
4. Baltimore Ravens
If Lamar Jackson stays healthy, this feels like the year he should finally win the chip. But he’s also “due” for an injury based on his style of play.
3. Philadelphia Eagles
We only knocked the Eagles off the perch because of a possible Super Bowl hangover. Those are real.
2. Buffalo Bills
Is this the year? How many more seasons of no Super Bowl appearances, let alone no Lombardis, will we allow the Bills to tease before they become a meme or punchline?
1. Kansas City Chiefs
We don’t bet against the Chiefs at Vikings Territory dot com. Why? Because we’re not silly. Mahomes and his pals will return to prominence after a humbling February.
