We might still be over three months away from the 2025 NFL season getting underway, but it’s time for some early Minnesota Vikings Predictions.

Vikings Territory’s Adam New gives his bold Vikings predictions for the 2025 season.

We are just into OTAs, and we have the whole of the preseason to go, but there are some things I’m confident have a good chance of happening. Here, I am giving you my personal bold predictions for the Vikings’ 2025 season.

1. Jordan Mason Has More Rushing TDs than Aaron Jones

The Vikings need to improve at finishing drives when under the goalposts vastly. It’s been a problem for a while, and a revamped interior offensive line will help, but I also think it’s why they traded for Jordan Mason. He has the vision and speed to get through gaps but also the physicality to punch through contact.

I predict he will become the Vikings’ go-to guy to punch the ball in, resulting in him outscoring Aaron Jones with rushing touchdowns.

2. T.J. Hockenson Reaches 1,000 Receiving Yards for First Time

T.J. Hockenson went over 900 receiving yards in two seasons in a row between 2022 and 2023. In 2023, he went down with a knee injury in Week 15 on 960 yards and was thwarted from reaching the 1,000 milestone for the first time.

Last season, Hockenson wasn’t ready to play until Week 8 due to the recovery from the same knee injury. Even then, he was eased back in over several games before getting to his usual workload. He still managed a respectable 455 receiving yards from 10 games.

Hockenson should be a favorite target of young Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy, particularly as he finds his feet in the pro game. If Hockenson can steer clear of injury in 2025, then I am certain he will break that 1000 receiving yards barrier for the first time. He will likely be the second-most-targeted Vikings receiver behind only Justin Jefferson.

3. Christian Darrisaw Makes First Pro Bowl

Another player who will be looking to achieve milestones that have eluded him due to injury is Christian Darrisaw. The Vikings’ left tackle is unquestionably one of the best in the league at his position. However, staying healthy has been a problem with multiple games missed in all four seasons he’s played in the league.

If Darrisaw can come back from the knee injury that ended his season in Week 8 last year and play at the same level for a full, uninterrupted season, he may not garner All-Pro consideration, but a Pro Bowl is in play.

4. Vikings Defense Leads the League in Sacks

The predictions have been offense-heavy, so we finish with one for the entire defensive unit.

Minnesota’s defense leads the league in sacks in 2025. It should be a goal for any Brian Flores defense, given the way he schemes up pressure. However, with all the weapons he now has at his disposal upfront, it’s a very realistic prospect.

Last year, the Vikings had the fourth-most sacks in the league, tied with the Houston Texans on 49. That was, however, some way behind the league-leading Denver Broncos, who had 63 sacks. The Baltimore Ravens (54) and Dallas Cowboys (52) made up the top five.

Minnesota Vikings Defensive Coordinator Brian Flores addressed the media from the TCO Performance Center on October 16th, 2024. Flores was hired in February 2023 to take over for Ed Donatell after Minnesota finished 30th in points allowed.

The Vikings managed that with almost non-existent pass rush from the interior defensive line, something which they have remedied this year by signing Jonathan Allen and Javon Hargrave in free agency, two interior defensive linemen with a reputation for getting after the quarterback.

Minnesota didn’t have that last season, and their presence will give Flores’ defense a threat from all angles. It should make the unit even more difficult to handle.
