You can call it a winning streak as the Minnesota Vikings have now won back-to-back games for the first time during the 2025 season.

QB J.J. McCarthy took some major strides forward in the latest victory against the Dallas Cowboys this past weekend, throwing for 250 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Dallas.

Now, the Vikings head back out on the road for the second consecutive week as they take on the New York Giants in Week 16. Here is a look at a few things Vikings fans need to know going into that matchup.

The Giants and Vikings have met a total of 32 times in the histories of the two franchises. Overall, the Vikings lead the all-time series with a record of 19-13 against their NFC counterparts. This includes a 28-6 win over New York in their most recent meeting during the 2024 season and wins in five of the past six games.

However, Minnesota and New York have met four times during the playoffs, and the Giants have won three of those matchups, including that 2022 Wild Card win and a 41-0 win in the 2001 NFC Championship Game.

Giants Spotlight Player: WR Wan’Dale Robinson

The New York Giants have had a dud of season in 2025 at 2-12, but a bright spot on their offense has been Wan’Dale Robinson. After two slow seasons to begin his career after being selected in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Robinson began showing strides of being a capable WR2 in the NFL during 2024.

That has only continued in 2025 despite shaky stability at the quarterback position. New York has started three different quarterbacks this season, and Robinson has still totaled 78 receptions for a career-high 882 yards and four touchdowns this year.

Robinson is set to make a large chunk of cash this offseason, and another big game against the Minnesota Vikings — and a defense that will be without both Jonathan Greenard and Josh Metellus for the remainder of the season — could add a few more dollars to that payday.

Vikings Spotlight Player: TE Gavin Bartholomew

One of the forgotten members of the 2025 Minnesota Vikings draft class, Gavin Bartholomew has yet to make his NFL debut after being selected in the sixth round of this past spring’s draft. The rookie tight end has had a back injury that hindered his ability to get onto the field since the summer months, but now, he could be nearing a return.

Bartholomew’s 21-day practice window was opened this week, and he could be set to finally take an NFL field down the stretch of this season. It comes at an interesting time for the tight end room as the Vikings have used much more 12- and 13-personnel over the past couple weeks. Meanwhile, veteran T.J. Hockenson has been a name floated as a possible salary cap casualty heading into this spring.

After catching 105 passes for 1257 yards and 11 touchdowns over four seasons at the University of Pittsburgh, Bartholomew now has a golden opportunity in front of him to prove that he belongs in the long-term plans for the Vikings. We’ll see if that journey begins this weekend.
