The Minnesota Vikings have dealt with some serious injuries all season long.

However, it appeared they were getting a bit healthier heading into Week 8 against the Los Angeles Chargers. Christian Darrisaw suited up after leaving Week 7’s loss early, and then Aaron Jones returned to the field to give the Vikings a fully healthy backfield.

By the end of the game though, everything came crashing downs, and the Vikings were once again bit by the injury bug.

Multiple Vikings players left the field because of injuries during Minnesota’s 37-10 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday.

First and foremost, Christian Darrisaw left the field early once again. Kevin O’Connell gave an update on the star left tackle’s status following the game.

“Christian Darrisaw tried to give it a go. I want to commend him for doing that on a short week coming off what’s been a trying time early on in the season after such a catastrophic significant knee injury a year ago. Just couldn’t continue to give it a go,” O’Connell said.

Meanwhile, tight end Josh Oliver also left the game early and was carted to the locker room because of a foot injury.

The good news in that department is that Oliver’s X-rays on the ankle were negative, but he will continue to be evaluated before next weekend.

“X-rays were negative on [Oliver’s] right foot, but we will need to MRI that foot/ankle and see what’s going on there. He’s pretty sore,” O’Connell said.

The tight end has totaled five receptions for 62 yards and a pair of touchdowns so far this season as the primary backup behind T.J. Hockenson. If he were to miss time, Ben Yurosek would step into that role in Week 9.

Jeff Okudah also went down with a concussion on Thursday, marking the second time he has suffered a concussion this season. As a result, it seems likely that he will miss at least a couple games as he recovers.

O’Connell also stated that Jonathan Greenard suffered a right ankle injury, and he will need to be evaluated heading into next week.

And that is all on top of Carson Wentz, who is clearly playing through a pretty painful shoulder injury right now.

Overall, we should expect plenty of injury updates from the Vikings over the next week and a half before their Week 9 showdown with the Lions.
