Former Vikings QBs Continue Winning Ways in Week 6

This spring, many wondered what the Minnesota Vikings would do to fill out their quarterback room.
Obviously, the team had to keep J.J. McCarthy in mind after using a top-10 pick in 2023 to bring the Michigan product to Minnesota, but after a 14-3 season, many wondered if the team should keep Sam Darnold around.
Then, when Darnold left for the Seattle Seahawks, there were rumblings of whether Daniel Jones should be kept as a veteran QB option. Of course, he decided to head to the Indianapolis Colts.
While the Vikings are fighting to keep their heads above water in the 2025 playoff race, both former Vikings QBs kept their winning ways going in Week 6 for their new teams.
Darnold Leads Seahawks to Win over Jaguars

Darnold and the Seahawks took their 3-2 record on the road this weekend to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars, who at 4-1, have been one of the biggest surprises in the NFL this season.
Seattle got absolutely nothing out of its running game on Sunday (Kenneth Walker had 10 carries for 34 yards, and Zach Charbonnet had 12 carries for 24 yards). That left any offensive production up to Darnold and the passing game, and the former Vikings QB delivered.
Darnold totaled 295 yards through the air and a pair of touchdowns, and Seattle’s defense held Jacksonville to just 12 points to improve to 4-2 on the season.
With the win, the Seahawks have moved into a tie for first place in the NFC West, and Darnold now has the following rankings among QBs:
- 3rd in passing yards (1541)
- T-5th in passing touchdowns (11)
- T-6th in completion percentage (70.8%)
Daniel Jones, Colts Maintain Best Record in AFC

An improbable story is brewing in Indianapolis as the Colts went into Sunday at 4-1, hoping to move to 5-1 and their best start to a season since the Colts made the Super Bowl in 2009.
In order to get to 5-1, Indy had to knock off the Arizona Cardinals, and they did just that despite falling behind Arizona heading into the fourth quarter.
Jones did benefit from a fantastic game by Jonathan Taylor, who totaled 123 rushing yards on his 21 carries and got the game-sealing touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Even still, the former Vikings QB had a solid game himself with 212 yards and a pair of touchdown passes.
As a result, the Colts maintained the best record in the AFC at 5-1 heading into Monday night, and they will have sole possession of that record if the Atlanta Falcons can topple the Buffalo Bills.
Aaron Rodgers Continues Resurrection Season

Aaron Rodgers isn’t a former Vikings QB, but this spring, the veteran made it known that he wanted to join Minnesota.
Instead, Rodgers headed to Pittsburgh, and he has completely resurrected his career with the Steelers this year. Pittsburgh snatched their fourth win of the season against the Cleveland Browns to improve to 4-1 on the year and expanded their lead in the AFC North.
Rodgers threw for 235 yards and a pair of touchdowns during the win, and he has solidified himself as an above average starter in the NFL once again.
