The Minnesota Vikings’ roster has 90 players at the moment, about three months from a 42% reduction to 53 at the end of the summer.

We asked hardcore Vikings fans about the team’s most underrated players, and these are their takes.

At any given time, the roster will host some underrated players, and we wanted to identify those men for the 2025 season.

So, we asked Vikings fans to name the club’s most underrated players. These are their replies.

Question to all: Who is the most underrated player on the Vikings’ roster? And why?

1. Jordan Addison (WR)

Addison has a little personal baggage, and we tend to downplay his worth because of it. In addition, he plays with Justin Jefferson, who might very well be the best WR in football. Nevertheless, I am very impressed with Addison’s route-running plus ability to make the difficult catches. It’s not just because the defense focuses on Jefferson; he shone when he was out.

Addison may be one of the top ten receivers in the NFL. I saw a list of the top ten receivers, and I thought the latter part of the list was comparable to Addison. Physically and athletically, he doesn’t scare you, but he performs consistently, and he has 19 TDs in the past two years — four more than Jefferson over the same period.

2. Isaiah Rodgers (CB)

Many only remember his time in Indy for the suspension that ended it. Then he was often buried on the depth chart as an Eagle. Rodgers will be a pleasant surprise for many as a CB and maybe even on special teams.

3. Eric Wilson (LB)

Picking the most underrated player on the Vikings is a tough one. We, as fans, do a pretty good job of acknowledging great play and players. But, as odd as it may seem, I’ll say a returning player in Eric Wilson.

He’s not the greatest LB to ever play for this team, but he shined in his last stint with the Vikes when he was on the field, and I don’t think he ever got the respect he deserved. Every time he was on the field, he made something happen and played with his whole heart.

4. Mekhi Blackmon (CB)

So many fans and “experts” seem to have forgotten about him or discounted him because he missed last year with a knee injury. He looked very solid as a rookie and will be over a year removed from injury when the season starts. I think he’s going to be very good this year.

5. Justin Jefferson (WR)

Hot take: Justin Jefferson. I think he’s by far the best receiver in the league. The most double-teamed WR, not close to No. 2. I believe Justin Jefferson has a chance to catch not only Moss, but also Jerry Rice.

t6. Josh Metellus (S)

I’ll say Josh Metellus. It seems like he can literally do it all and is one of the smartest football players you’ll find across the league. I don’t feel that the Hitman ever got the full attention he deserved during his career, but Metellus is another Vikings safety who doesn’t get enough credit.

In my eyes, Josh Metellus is the most underrated player. He does a little of everything and seems to be in on almost every play, he’s a crucial part the Vikings’ defense.
