Our Bold Predictions for Vikings at Seahawks in Week 13

The Minnesota Vikings face an 11.5-point underdog status this weekend, with the Seattle Seahawks on the menu. Quarterback Max Brosmer will take the reins under center, as J.J. McCarthy will miss the contest with a concussion.
Our bold predictions for the Vikings at the Seahawks in Week 13 outline the swings, surprises, and matchup risks that could define Sunday.
Minnesota would have to run the table in the final six weeks to reach the postseason, and even that scenario would only fetch a 75% playoff likelihood.
But for this week, consider these three bold predictions for Seahawks-Vikings.
3 Hot Takes for Vikings at Seahawks
Putting the bold stuff out in the atmosphere.

1. Max Brosmer Absolutely Cooks
The way Vikings history usually works, this whole narrative of Brosmer taking over just screams for him to thrive. Nothing ever goes according to plan for the purple and gold franchise, so Brosmer getting the nod and playing like a stud simply follows the script.
At Seattle, Brosmer does not have a high bar to clear, mainly because J.J. McCarthy has played so poorly through six starts. Therefore, in the court of public opinion, Brosmer will exit Sunday as a better passer than McCarthy, igniting a debate among fans: “McCarthy or Brosmer?”
Along the way, Brosmer will throw for at least 250 yards, two or three touchdowns, and account for just one turnover. Seattle is not an easy place to play, especially in one’s first start, but the University of Minnesota alumnus will cook in Week 13.
All the clues are there.
Zone Coverage‘s Tom Schreier wrote this week about Brosmer and the Vikings’ offense, “It’s unfair to Justin Jefferson, Minnesota’s core players, and the defense to wait on a 22-year-old quarterback who is completing roughly half his passes. Until McCarthy reported concussion symptoms, it looked like the rest of the season would be about his development.”
“The Vikings have less than a 1% chance of making the playoffs, and there aren’t many other viable quarterback options. Kyle Shanahan revived Mac Jones’ career, but he seems like a high-floor, low-upside player. O’Connell seems to love Anthony Richardson, but he’s another project. The Vikings would probably love to have a veteran to turn to right now, if not earlier in the season.”
It’s worth noting that Brosmer has all the weapons necessary to succeed.
Schreier added, “However, Carson Wentz never mastered O’Connell’s offense and underwent season-ending shoulder surgery. So they turn to Brosmer, the former Gophers quarterback turned undrafted free agent. Perhaps Max Brosmer becomes Brock Purdy, only he looks like Kevin Federline, not Anna Frey.”
“He could also look like McCarthy, another rookie quarterback lost in O’Connell’s arcane offense. We’ll find out on Sunday if McCarthy can’t play. Sam Darnold will stand on the opposite sideline. Brosmer waits behind Door 2.”
2. Dallas Turner Banks 2 More Sacks
If Turner hadn’t been socked with a roughing the passer penalty against the Baltimore Ravens a few weeks ago, he’d have sacks in each of the last three games.

Nevertheless, Turner has busted out in the last few contests, taking advantage of the opportunity after a bad shoulder has sidelined Jonathan Greenard. He’s looked the part of a 1st-Rounder and has served as an encouraging contributor for the future.
Turner will take down Darnold twice or more for sacks, solidifying himself as a force to be reckoned with for the long haul.
It’s worth noting that Greenard is questionable for Sunday; he may or may not play.
3. Vikings Lose a Thriller
This season just hasn’t gone as planned for the purple team, so a perfect script would be a wonderful performance, led by Brosmer, that just isn’t quite good enough.

The Seahawks aren’t some decent team that’s getting lucky each week. They’re legitimately good-good, playing efficiently on all sides of the ball. Well, this Sunday, Minnesota will dust off one of its finest performances of the 2025 campaign, playing mostly mistake-free football. Yet, it won’t get the job done.
You will leave your living room feeling optimistic about Brosmer, but Minnesota will lose to Seattle by a scor of 30-27 or something similar. This will spark a Week 14 debate, as McCarthy will presumably be cleared from the concussion protocol. “McCarthy or Brosmer” will be discussed among fans by Monday morning.
