The Minnesota Vikings have about 70% of the regular season left, with a meeting at home against the Philadelphia Eagles awaiting them next weekend.

We like to keep a thumb on the pulse of the Vikings’ fan base, and here are bold predictions coming out of the bye week for the rest of the way.

And as the bye week winds down, we asked a panel of Vikings fans to provide a bold prediction for the rest of the season: fearless and intrepid prognostications that might brush realism to the side a wee bit but could still come true.

Here’s what they said.

1. J.J. McCarthy Totally Turns It Around

Who Said It?
Bruce Johnson

My prediction is that McCarthy turns his season around, and we all forget about the dilemma of McCarthy or Wentz. It will become a no-brainer by the end of the season in favor of McCarthy.

2. Vikings Win 10 of Next 12 Games with J.J. McCarthy Back at QB1

Who Said It?
Steve Berglund

McCarthy comes back, looking like we thought he would, and the Vikes win 10 of 12 games to end the season after the bye.

The Athletic‘s Alec Lewis on Minnesota’s confidence in McCarthy: “This is the most pressing topic for this team: When will McCarthy return, and what should the expectations be when he does? First and foremost, he’s getting closer.”

“The young quarterback needed multiple weeks to recover fully from a high ankle sprain. Once he healed, the Vikings planned a rigorous process to ensure that his lower-body mechanics were as fine-tuned as possible. For a right-handed quarterback, his right foot controls most of the power. The less grounded that foot is, the more torque transfers to the arm, and the less accurate you typically become. Understandably, coach Kevin O’Connell does not want McCarthy compromised as a thrower.”

Whether McCarthy or Carson Wentz plays in Week 7 will utterly dominate next week’s purple storylines, rest assured.

“The challenge is tough enough. In the first two weeks, McCarthy did not appear to have acclimated very well to NFL speed. Processing correctly only pays off if the thrower is accurate, and both will be paramount when McCarthy returns. Will that be in Week 7 against the Philadelphia Eagles? It’s too early to say,” Lewis added.

“Most telling will be McCarthy’s workload in practice next week. O’Connell has been clear that McCarthy must go through a whole week of practice from start to finish before he plays. The Vikings aren’t going to hold McCarthy out because of the level of opponent, but they are going to be smart about putting him in an environment they believe gives him the best chance at building some momentum.”

3. Minnesota Stacks a Six-Game Win Streak Sometime This Season

Jens from Norway

The Vikings will find their groove and stack up a six-game win streak at some point this season.

4. The Vikings Will Be Forced to Draft a QB in Round 1 Next April

Who Said It?
Ivan, Czar of Bohunks

My bold prediction is that the Vikings will sadly be drafting a first-round QB again in 2026.

5. Minnesota Wins the NFC North with a 12-5 Record

J.J. McCarthy makes a triumphant return after the bye week, leading the Vikings on a string of victories. The Vikings close out the season winning the NFC North with a record of 12-5.

6. Jonathan Greenard Explodes

Minnesota linebacker Jonathan Greenard (58) stretches and prepares for kickoff during warmups against the Tennessee Titans. Jonathan Greenard will finish the season in the Top 5 in sacks. Despite recording just one sack through five games, he ranks much higher in quarterback pressures. Sooner or later, those pressures will translate into sacks.

7. General Manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah Trade a DT

Who Said It?
Eric Horstman

My bold prediction is that they end up trading a starter on the defensive line because of how well Levi Drake Rodriguez and Jalen Redmond have played. Jonathan Allen would be my guess.

8. A Four-Game Losing Streak after the Bye Is on the Way

The Vikings are poised to take a huge step back and lose their next four games. The QB who gets the most snaps for us this season isn’t on the roster yet.
