Get ready for a season full of stunners. Here are seven bold NFL predictions for 2025 that could shake things up, from breakout stars to shocking developments.
And with the season so close you can taste it, we asked our customary panel of Minnesota Vikings fans to provide bold takes for the NFL โ not just Minnesota โ for 2025.
Here’s how they replied.
Question to the panel: Let’s hear your boldest NFL prediction, not related to the Vikings. And ‘bold predictions’ are designed to be out there, my usual reminder.
For example:
โ The Patriots make the playoffs.
โ Trevor Lawrence wins MVP.
โ Tyrone Tracy leads the NFL in rushing yards.
2025 NFL Season Bold Predictions โ from Purple Fans
These are fans’ hottest takes for the NFL, on the whole, this season.

1. Panthers Win the NFC South
Prediction Maker: Eric Horstman | @ehorstman23
I think my bold one for this year is that the Carolina Panthers will win the NFC South. Bryce Young seems to have finally figured it out, and I think getting some key pieces back from injury on defense will turn them into a respectable team this year.
2. J.J. McCarthy Leads the NFL in TD-INT Ratio
Prediction Maker: Skol Tom | @skolfromWI
J.J. McCarthy leads the league in TD:INT ratio, and finishes 2nd in MVP voting. Bonus: 46 TDs, 3 INTs.
3. Only Vikings Reach the Postseason from NFC North
Prediction Maker: Bruce Johnson | @sachikojohnson

No other team in the NFC North will make the playoffs other than the Vikings. It’s a tough schedule this year for the NFC North, and the other teams have to play Minnesota twice!
4. The Buffalo Bills Go Undefeated
Prediction Maker: Tadd | @st7cubs
The Buffalo Bills are going undefeated and winning the Super Bowl. Josh Allen is done with “almost.” The entire O-line is back, the defense is upgraded, and Bills Mafia has been waiting for this. Doing what the Patriots couldn’t will make it even sweeter.
NFL.com’s Eric Edholm ranked the Bills as the NFL’s fourth-best team this week.
He explained, “Early camp has been littered with some pesky injuries, especially at receiver and in the secondary, with first-round CB Maxwell Hairston currently sidelined. The Bills probably can survive some of the WR injuries if Keon Coleman can stay healthy and make a big jump in Year 2, but that’s hardly a guarantee. Likewise, fellow second-year pro Cole Bishop could help improve the secondary with a level-up season.”
“Hairston’s knee sprain doesn’t appear too concerning, but it could lead to Tre’Davious White taking a starting gig early on. The Bills clearly are one of the best teams in football, led by reigning MVP Josh Allen, and winning the division again should be the obvious goal, but there are enough early worries to keep them in this spot. This team obviously has bigger aspirations, but it remains third in the AFC for now.”
5. Jayden Daniels, Bo Nix Flounder
Prediction Maker: Steve Berglund | @vikesin18

Sophomore jinx catches up to Jayden Daniels and Bo Nix. For Daniels, it’s some nickel-and-dime injuries that cause him to miss numerous games. For Nix, are the league’s defenses adapting to him? Neither the Commanders nor the Broncos make the playoffs.
6. The Vikings Reach the Super Bowl
Prediction Maker: Ivan, Czar of Bohunks | @up4discussion7
My boldest NFL take is that Minnesota will make it to the Super Bowl this season..
7. Dallas Capitulates
Prediction Maker: Jens from Norway | @rednpurple77
The Cowboys will implode this season. The players will revolt against Jerry Jones.

The aforementioned Edholm on the Cowboys’ ranking, No. 20: “The Micah Parsons news has dominated the headlines since the start of camp, and for good reason. Even if we brush off Parsons’ trade request as the necessary and uncomfortable part of contract negotiations, the Cowboys have still been without one of their most indispensable players all of camp so far. You can’t count on a consistent pass rush without him, even if second-rounder Donovan Ezeiruaku continues impressing.”
“Then on offense, there’s the question of how much preseason time Dak Prescott will receive coming off hamstring surgery. He needs the time to mesh with Brian Schottenheimer and new WR George Pickens, but the Cowboys also can’t risk their QB getting hurt. There have been some tense moments early in camp, but this team’s story has not yet been written.”
The NFL season begins on September 4th, with the Eagles hosting the Cowboys.
