The Minnesota Vikings’ offseason will begin cooking with gas in three weeks with the start of NFL free agency.

4 Vikings Players Who Could Be Traded This Offseason

The 2025 NFL Draft shakes out six weeks later.

And because Vikings boss Kwesi Adofo-Mensah loves to trade, a handful of players could be on the move this offseason via swaps with other teams.

These are the Vikings’ 2025 trade candidates, listed alphabetically.

1. Brian Asamoah (LB)

Minnesota drafted Asamoah from Round 3 of the infamous 2022 NFL Draft, and fans thought highly of his potential. However, at every step of the way in the last three seasons, the Vikings end up starting somebody not named Asamoah when linebacker injuries emerge.

Like nearly every draftee from 2022, Asamoah hasn’t panned out.

Likely Trade Compensation: Conditional 7th-Round Pick

2. Blake Brandel (OG)

Kevin O’Connell claimed after his team’s playoff loss in the Wildcard Round that the interior offensive line needed repair.

While Brandel plays on an affordable contract of about $3 million per year, Minnesota could end up signing a player like Trey Smith (Kansas City Chiefs) or Teven Jenkins (Chicago Bears), to name a couple, from free agency.

Theoretically, one of those free agents could directly replace Brandel.

Likely Trade Compensation: 6th-Round Draft Pick

3. Garrett Bradbury (C)

Minnesota has conducted the Bradbury experiment for six seasons, and the man is a wonderful run-blocker who frequently struggles with pass protection.

The J.J. McCarthy era is likely to start at quarterback for the 2025 Vikings and now could be the time to secure a center that can do it all. Atlanta Falcons free agent Drew Dalman is an option.

Bradbury has one year left on his existing contract.

Likely Trade Compensation: 5th-Round Draft Pick

4. Sam Darnold (QB)

Sam Darnold did himself no favors in the 2024 season’s final two games, collapsing when it mattered the most against the Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Rams.

Still, before the disappearing act, Darnold produced 36 total touchdowns en route to his team’s 14-3 record. Adofo-Mensah could apply the franchise tag on Darnold and send him to the highest bidder.

Because Darnold’s played terribly in his two most important games as a Viking, this trade scenario became less likely, but if there’s a will, there’s a way.

Likely Trade Compensation: 3rd- or 4th-Round Draft Pick
