How Did They Let the Vikings Get THAT Guy?

Every year, with general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah in charge, the Minnesota Vikings end up with some semblance of a notable undrafted free agent haul.
How Did They Let the Vikings Get THAT Guy?
The young executive has mastered the art of brokering pre-draft relationships with soon-to-be UDFAs, while splurging top dollar for their services when the draft concludes.
And 2025 was no different, as Adofo-Mensah signed Kansas offensive tackle Logan Brown.
Kansas OT Logan Brown to Vikings
Because Minnesota employs Christian Darrisaw and Brian O’Neill at offensive tackle, the position was not prioritized during the draft, especially because the club had just four picks entering the event.

However, taking the best player available is never unwise, so the Vikings could’ve realistically chosen a tackle, with Darrisaw recovering from a torn ACL and O’Neill approaching age 30.
Adofo-Mensah did no such thing, but onboarded Brown on Saturday, headlining his UDFA haul.
Logan Brown on the Consensus Big Board
Per the Consensus Big Board, a document that logs all pundits’ rookie rankings, Brown was the 160th-best prospect available to all NFL teams last week. That translates to Round 5 stock, and some credible websites even had Brown listed as a 4th-Round talent.

Minnesota spent zero draft picks on Brown, instead finding him for “free” after the event. Based on traditional scouting, Brown should’ve been selected in Round 4, 5, or 6 — and 7 at the very latest.
But nope. He fell to Minnesota.
Logan Brown Scouting Report
Bleacher Report ranked Brown as the 2025 class’ 14th-best offensive tackle and assigned a Round 5 grade. BR’s collective staff on Brown: “The Minnesota Vikings added Kansas OT Logan Brown as an undrafted free agent after the 2025 NFL draft. Logan Brown is a one-year starter at right tackle inside Kansas’ 60-40 run-pass split, RPO/motion heavy, zone-based run scheme with gap principles (G-T counter) mixed in. Brown has a broad frame, long arms and thick, well-rounded build with good athletic ability and very good play strength.”
“In the run game, Brown is a commanding presence on angle-drive blocks where he uses light feet, big body and vice grips for hands to cover up, jar and displace defenders off of their spot to vacate space. He has good athletic ability to re-leverage his hips, drive and stay attached late in the rep to torque and finish. Brown is a capable puller who can climb, intersect and erase backers on his climb.”

Minnesota spent the last seven weeks rebuilding its offensive line, and to an extent, Brown now feels like a depth cake-topper.
BR added: “He has an upright playing style that can lead to him being late transferring his weight against moves across his face but his length casts a wide net that usually is enough to slow down penetration, but his aiming points will need added refinement at the next level to consistently keep things in front of him. Brown has bad habits such as setting too flat and striking down the middle of rushers using his outside hand that create two-way gos and short corners.”
“He can also be a tick late recognizing stunts that leave him vulnerable to getting knocked off levels by penetrators. Overall, Brown has the size, play strength and power to develop into a swing tackle within his rookie contract and with added refinement to his technique, use of leverage and overall consistency could become a long-term spot starter.”
Another UDFA Masterpiece
Adofo-Mensah has a reputation through four draft cycles for UDFA finds. In 2023, he scooped linebacker Ivan Pace Jr. from the market right after the draft, another curiously undrafted commodity who now starts in Brian Flores’ defense.
Minnesota also has big plans for cornerback Dwight McGlothern and outside linebackers Bo Richter and Gabriel Murphy in 2025 and beyond — all UDFAs from 2024.
Adofo-Mensah, too, found EDGE Luiji Vilain in 2022, another man who could’ve been selected in Round 3 or 4 that year.
Brown’s Role in Minnesota
The aforementioned Darrisaw is recovering from an ACL tear, and Minnesota did not re-sign David Quessenberry, a depth tackle, this offseason. Adofo-Mensah added Justin Skule from free agency and also has Walter Rouse on the depth chart.

Brown projects as a backup tackle, a man on deck to play the “Oli Udoh” role, and truth be told, if the regular season began tomorrow, Brown might be the team’s OT4.
He’s another UDFA steal for Adofo-Mensah that should’ve been drafted. Brown has diabetes, but it’s next to impossible to understand why no team wanted him.
