The Minnesota Vikings’ 2025 Super Bowl odds are pretty puny, but ESPN gave the purple team a little love on Monday.

Vikings Power Ranking from ESPN Is Pretty Sweet

The Philadelphia Eagles creamed the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, and soon after the event, ESPN posted early 2025 power rankings, with Minnesota checking in at No. 10.

The sports media giant described each team’s upcoming offseason in three words, and for the Vikings, those words were “sign free agents.”

ESPN’s Kevin Seifert explained the recommendation while noting Minnesota’s Top 10 power ranking: “The Vikings’ poor draft performance over the past few seasons has left them with few internal options as they evaluate a roster with nearly two dozen pending free agents. And with a projected four picks in the 2025 draft, general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah will dip heavily into the market to fill his roster.”

The purple team won 14 games in 2024 before melting down in Week 18 and the postseason’s Wildcard Round. And a 14-3 record usually warrants Top 10 placement the following season, which ESPN obliged.

“Some of the approach will depend on whether the Vikings spend the money to re-sign quarterback Sam Darnold or if they move forward with J.J. McCarthy. Regardless of their cap situation, the Vikings will need an influx of free agents,” Seifert added.

Super Bowl odds, on the other hand, aren’t so kind. Check out where the Vikings land:

  • Philadelphia Eagles +600
  • Kansas City Chiefs +700
  • Buffalo Bills +700
  • Baltimore Ravens +700
  • Detroit Lions +1000
  • San Francisco 49ers +1600
  • Washington Commanders +1800
  • Green Bay Packers +1800
  • Cincinnati Bengals +2000
  • Los Angeles Rams +2800
  • Los Angeles Chargers +2800
  • Houston Texans +3000
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers +3500
  • Denver Broncos +3500
  • Chicago Bears +4000
  • Minnesota Vikings +4000

The Vikings must fix their trenches in free agency and the draft. The Eagles demonstrated Sunday night that strong offensive and defensive lines are the blueprint for a Lombardi Trophy, even stifling the mighty Patrick Mahomes and preventing the dynastic Chiefs’ would-be three-peat.

Minnesota also has a meaty quarterback decision afoot — to re-sign Sam Darnold or let it ride with J.J. McCarthy, a man drafted by the Vikings with the 10th overall pick last April.

The Tennessee Titans sat alone at No. 32.

NFL free agency is four weeks away.
