Speedy Ex-Viking Continues Free Agent Tour

Former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver and return man Jalen Reagor worked out for the Atlanta Falcons last week, and with no contract materializing, the speedster has now tried on the Seattle Seahawks for size.
A speedy former Vikings playmaker continues his free agent tour, drawing interest around the league as evaluations ramp up late in the season.
Seattle is deep in the heat of a playoff contention push, with Reagor as a possible option for practice squad insurance.
Former Vikings WR Jalen Reagor Auditions in Seattle
The man is having a rough time finding work.

Reagor to the Seahawks?
Although the Seahawks ended up signing Jerry Rice’s son, Brenden, Seattle worked out Reagor this week.
NBC Sports‘ Charean Williams wrote, “The Seahawks signed wide receiver Brenden Rice and running back Velus Jones to the practice squad, the team announced on Tuesday. They released tight end Marshall Lang and cornerback Mike Reid in corresponding moves.”
“Rice and Jones were among eight players who worked out for the Seahawks on Tuesday. Former Lions quarterback Hendon Hooker threw to Rice and wide receivers Montorie Foster, Jaylen Johnson, Dymere Miller and Jalen Reagor. Center Doug Kramer also tried out.”
The Seahawks now have Reagor’s tryout on file.
Seattle’s Current WRs
Had Reagor gotten the nod, he would’ve joined this flourishing WR unit:
- Jaxon Smith-Njigba
- Cooper Kupp
- Rashid Shaheed
- Troy Horton
- Jake Bobo
- Cody White
- Courtney Jackson (Practice Squad)
- Ricky White III (Practice Squad)
- Brenden Rice (Practice Squad)
- Tyrone Broden (Injured Reserve)
- Dareke Young (Injured Reserve)
Smith-Njigba leads the NFL in receiving yards through 11 weeks, tabulating 1,146 so far. A remarkable stat.
Reagor’s Career to Date
Reagor landed with the Chargers in September 2024 and stayed on the roster all year. He played in eight games and finished with seven catches for 100 yards, a modest role in an offense built on vertical speed. He handled punts in Minnesota and kick returns for New England in 2023, but those lanes were mostly closed in Los Angeles, leaving him as a situational option instead of a weekly piece.
And the name still hits the league a certain way. Reagor remains the player Philadelphia drafted one spot before Justin Jefferson in 2020 — a decision cemented in league memory and one that trails him to every new stop.

He has 86 career receptions for 1,037 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Other Former Vikings in Seattle
Seattle employs four former Vikings at the moment:
- Sam Darnold (QB)
- Myles Gaskin (RB, Practice Squad)
- Shaquill Griffin (CB, Practice Squad)
- Chazz Surratt (LB)
Darnold obviously leads the way, producing a head-turning season in Seattle, although the Pro Bowl passer flopped last weekend by tossing four interceptions in the biggest game of the season to date against the Los Angeles Rams.
Surratt sees action on special teams and defense, at times. Gaskin and Griffin, who hardcore Vikings fans will know well, live on the practice squad in case of emergency.
Seattle as the League’s 4th-Best Team
NFL.com‘s Eric Edholm published power rankings this week, and the Seahawks pulled down the No. 4 spot.
He explained, “Sam Darnold had a nightmare outing on Sunday, with four interceptions and a shocking lack of urgency on the final drive that could have delivered a victory for the Seahawks in a game they never led. For Darnold, it must have felt like a reprise of the playoff loss to the Rams last January, with picks replacing sacks as his downfall this time, and now Seattle probably has to beat Los Angeles in the Week 16 rematch and hope for some luck to avoid being a wild-card team.”
“The Seahawks’ defense was pretty lights out most of the game, allowing just seven points in the final 45-plus minutes — and that TD came after one of Darnold’s INTs, when L.A. took over at Seattle’s 25-yard line. If the ‘Hawks can avoid turnovers, they’re good enough to beat anyone. If not, they’re ripe to be beaten.”

USA Today‘s Nate Davis on Seattle at No. 3 in his rankings: “OK, so we know the Rams have been Kryptonite for SoCal native Sam Darnold. But his team nearly pulled out the win despite his four INTs on Sunday. We also know Darnold has been an epic win for this locker room given the way LB Ernest Jones IV came to his defense after the loss to LA.”
Seattle can bounce back this week at Tennessee in a matchup against the lowly Titans.
