Also, please note: These are opinion-based responses. Some answers will be incorrect from time to time. But we’ll try to keep that to a minimum.

Q: Which Vikings players will be cut during free agency or soon after?

Answer: We believe the Vikings will end up releasing around three players.
Let’s roll with these as predictions:
- Brian Asamoah (LB)
- Ed Ingram (OG)
- Ty Chandler (RB)
Asamoah never plays on defense, Ingram was benched midseason in 2024, and Minnesota will likely employ Aaron Jones + a rookie + Cam Akers at running back next year.
Q: Who’s the most probable free agent to join Minnesota from the open market?

Answer: We’ll say Paulson Adebo.
Here’s Adebo’s Pro Football Focus resume to date:
- 2024: 63.3
- 2023: 78.6
- 2022: 49.1
- 2021: 60.3
When healthy, Adebo specializes in sticky pass coverage, aggression, and a recently improved tackling acumen. His run defense might be described as one weakness through the first four seasons of his career.
Because of his fractured leg, Adebo’s price tag in free agency won’t be quite as high as others, like New York Jets defender D.J. Reed, for example. Adebo would fit the Adofo-Mensah mold of buying at a discount because of injury fears, a practice he utilized last offseason with outside linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel and Marcus Davenport the year prior.
Q: Which in-house free agents will return to the Vikings?

Answer: Here’s our list of men who will return.
- Cam Akers (RB)
- Shaquill Griffin (CB)
- Kamu Grugier-Hill (LB)
- Aaron Jones (RB)
- Daniel Jones (QB)
- Johnny Mundt (TE)
- Byron Murphy Jr. (CB)
- Harrison Smith (S)
- Jihad Ward (OLB)
- Ryan Wright (P)
Of course, safety Theo Jackson has already been re-signed for $4 million per season, and most interpret that as a sign that Camryn Bymum won’t be back, which is a fair assumption.
David Quessenberry could return, too, but we’re unsure if the Vikings will sign a more startable offensive tackle because of Christian Darrisaw’s injury recovery. Thankfully, everyone will find out in a few days.
