Kay Adams Has a Spicy Suggestion for the Vikings

Not long ago, FanDuel‘s Kay Adams went all in on predicting the Minnesota Vikings as her top Super Bowl pick.
Kay Adams is high on the Vikings, in general, and now she has an emphatic recommendation.
That alone turned heads, as prominent NFL analysts don’t usually pick the purple team for such glory.
But Adams is different, and in a separate conversation last week, she also recommended that the Vikings sign former Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander, who is there for the taking on the open market.
Here are the details.
Kay Adams Recommends Jaire Alexander to the Vikings
On The Up and Adams Show last week, Adams discussed landing spots for Alexander, and with a climactic declaration, she rolled with Minnesota as her choice.

“My vote for landing spot, for one, Jaire Alexander, would be the Vikings. Of course, we can do the funniest thing ever here: Go to the Vikings,” Adams urged.
“So much has gone on between him and Minnesota over the years. They need a corner. I talked to Vikings Coach Kevin O’Connell about that being maybe the only thing I don’t love right now as far as keeping them from winning a Super Bowl. He gets a chance to play the Packers twice a year. I would love Jaire to stay in that division. You just got to join forces with quarterback Justin Jefferson and see how that goes.”
Vikings fans saw the recommendation — and obviously agreed. When a Pro Bowl cornerback hits the wire in his career’s prime, heads turn.
No Word Yet on Any Interest from Vikings in Jaire Alexander
When the Packers cut Alexander loose a week and a half ago, the veteran defensive back generated ample buzz. That’s how it goes when a formidable cornerback hits free agency, overall, and especially in June.

But out of the gate for his free-agent services, the Vikings were not mentioned as a team that had expressed interest. At least one former Packers player usually signs in Minnesota per offseason, and because Vikings’ assistant head coach Mike Pettine defensively coordinated Alexander for three seasons in Green Bay, Minnesota made sense as a landing spot.
However, Alexander to Minnesota is just a theory at the moment.
The Almighty Offseason Cake-Topper
General manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah used the 2025 offseason to bolster the trenches, extend his head coach, lift J.J. McCarthy to the QB1 job, and onboard additional newcomers like Isaiah Rodgers and Rondale Moore.
Signing Alexander would make the purple offseason damn near flawless, as some perceive the cornerback spot as a bit of a weakness. And even if the cornerback room is just fine — it might be — adding Alexander wouldn’t be a dumb idea. At the peak of his powers, Alexander is that productive.
So, Adams could be on to something with her Super Bowl projection, along with the Alexander recommendation. The two ideas merge.
Vikings May Not Want CB Help
There’s also the notion of contentment. Minnesota may not need additional cornerback help, which would explain why the club has not signed Mike Hilton, Jack Jones, Rasul Douglas, or Asante Samuel Jr from free agency. Adofo-Mensah and his coaches may simply enjoy the current group.

If the season started today, defensive coordinator Brian Flores would probably showcase Byron Murphy Jr., Isaiah Rodgers, and Mekhi Blackmon in starting roles.
In short, if Minnesota wanted Alexander or a different free agent, they would’ve signed one by now.
Packers Fans Fear the Eagles as Alexander’s Destination
Meanwhile, some national media outlets have mentioned that Alexander could sign with the Philadelphia Eagles, making the rich — richer.
Lombardi Ave‘s Freddie Boston demonstrably decried that plan last weekend: “Jaire Alexander to Eagles makes too much sense, but it would lead to inevitable pain for Packers fans. Alexander signing with the Eagles is about as bad as it gets, save for perhaps the Vikings. Philadelphia would have successfully built the secondary that every Packers fan cried out for.”
“We were all there in 2024, pounding the table for the team to draft Cooper DeJean. Gutekunst passed in the first round, and the Eagles astutely traded ahead of the Packers to land him in the second. They also drafted Quinyon Mitchell, another prospect many hoped would end up in Green Bay. Mitchell and DeJean were among the five finalists for the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award.”

The Eagles’ defensive back coach, Christian Parker, also worked on the Packers’ coaching staff during Alexander’s formative seasons.
Boston added, “Now, add in Alexander, a multi-time All-Pro for the Packers? That’s a sickening thought. A starting trio of Alexander, Mitchell, and DeJean is as good as any in football, and it would make Green Bay’s path in the NFC that much tougher. The Eagles have inflicted enough pain on the Packers, don’t you think?”
“And we didn’t even get a tush push ban to make amends. Alexander is still deciding his next move, but joining the rival Eagles makes far too much sense. But, hey, at least it would mean not joining the Vikings? Let’s not put that idea out into the universe.”
A team like the Atlanta Falcons or Carolina Panthers might be the frontrunners if the Vikings or Eagles don’t win the Alexander sweepstakes. The Washington Commanders and Las Vegas Raiders shouldn’t be ruled out either.
