The 2025 Jordan Addison Debut Is Here

Jordan Addison was the Minnesota Vikings’ first-round pick during the 2023 NFL Draft. In two seasons playing for Kevin O’Connell, the number two wide receiver has looked like he would be capable of operating as a top dog anywhere else. Now returning to the Vikings’ active roster for the first time this season, we’re about to see O’Connell unleash it all.
Jordan Addison is set to make his 2025 debut for the Minnesota Vikings, and he brings an entirely new dynamic to the offense.
In the two seasons Minnesota has employed Jordan Addison, he has operated as the number two option behind Justin Jefferson. It’s not his fault that the best wide receiver in the NFL is his teammate, and he has done exceptionally well working within that framework.
Alas, Jordan Addison Is Back
Addison already has 19 touchdowns to his credit at the NFL level, and he would easily be the best wide receiver on multiple teams across the league. Acquiring that level of talent to bolster the offense three weeks into the season is a boost that other franchises would love to have.

Through the first three weeks of the season, Minnesota has leaned on the acquisition of Adam Thielen, the continued emergence of Jalen Nailor, and the presence of T.J. Hockenson. None of them brings the level of ability that Addison possesses, and the offense turns up a notch by bringing him back into the fold.
This will be the second week in which Minnesota is without Aaron Jones in the backfield. Last week, against the Bengals, it was the Jordan Mason show, and that worked out wonderfully. He will continue to be the bellcow back with both Zavier Scott and Cam Akers filling in. O’Connell can lean on the running game as much as he would like, but he’ll now have the full complement of his pass catchers.

Facing the Pittsburgh Steelers in Ireland this weekend, Minnesota will present a challenge unlike any team has faced thus far this season. The Vikings are four-deep at the wide receiver position, and they have a starting tight end with significant upside. Carson Wentz’s first touchdown pass with the purple went to blocking tight end Josh Oliver, and that only further strengthens the argument that the offense is ripe with weapons.
Unfortunately, Addison missed the first three games of the season. That discipline, a result of his own poor decisions, is now in the past. It’s time to let the entire offense cook, and Addison is going to be a significant part of that.
