The Minnesota Vikings own the 24th overall pick in this year’s draft, a spot where they can veer in any direction.

Who Will the Vikings Draft First? 6 Predictions.

The franchise has the opportunity to draft the best player available without fear of being trapped in a singular roster position.

And because the identity of the pick is so up in the air, we asked a handful of Vikings to predict the pick. Here’s the question: Whether they stay put at No. 24 or trade back, which player will the Vikings end up with as their first pick?

This is how folks replied.

1. Jahdae Barron (CB)
Texas

I don’t think they’ll trade back before the start of the draft, so it may work out differently on draft night. But I’m calling it now that Jahdae Barron will be a Minnesota Viking, and they will stick at 24 to get him.

He’s a baller of a CB, and even though we added to the defensive back room in free agency, you can never have enough corners.

2. Donovan Jackson (G)
Ohio State

The first player selected is Donovan Jackson from Ohio State. Kwesi used his big brain after trading back a few picks, realizing he could pick up a really good DT and CB later in the draft.

3. Derrick Harmon (DT)
Oregon

We don’t know which players the Vikings like will be available to pick, but I’m predicting they stick and pick. If I have to predict, I say Harmon, the DT out of Oregon. Solid pick.

4. Shavon Revel Jr. (CB)
East Carolina

I 100% believe the Vikings are trading back. They’ll look to Buffalo, KC, or Philly. I think Revel Jr. or Harmon if either of those fall. Don’t rule out Luther Burden IIII.

5. Nick Emmanwori (S)
South Carolina

Predcited by: Chris | @Skol227

I think their first pick will be a safety. I guess Nick Emmanwori from South Carolina until Kwesi trades back for more picks.

t6. Grey Zabel (G)
North Dakota State

Predicted by: Eric Horstman | @EHorstman23

I’ve changed my thinking on the 1st pick. I’m going to go with Grey Zabel. I thought DT was a lock, but since it’s a deeper class at DT, they can get someone in the 3rd that can still be a good starter.

t6. Grey Zabel (G)
North Dakota State

The Vikings have been working to reshape the interior offensive line, and I think they will finish it off by taking Zabel with their first pick.
