It went from comfortable to nerve-wracking again, but the Minnesota Vikings completed the double over the Green Bay Packers with a 27-25 win. The Vikings moved to 14-2 with one regular season game remaining and the number one seed in their own hands. Here is a selection of Vikings player reactions to win over Green Bay.
The entire Vikings locker room let it be known what they think of QB1 after the game.
Sam Darnold — as always — was quick to put all of the praise onto his teammates.
Justin Jefferson discussed Darnold and why the opportunity he is taking now differs from the one that came before.
The Vikings had an unlikely hero in the game’s early stages, with all the talk of Jefferson, Jordan Addison, T.J. Hockenson, and Aaron Jones.
Jalen Nailor stepped up for the first touchdown catch of the day — his sixth of the season. Nailor caught all five of his targets for a season-high 81 yards.
Nailor’s first thoughts when talking to Ben Leber on the field post-game was “We still got work to do”. In case of any doubts, this Vikings team has its eyes firmly set on the big prize.
Cam Akers reacted to coach O’Connell by saying he loved him, another sign of this team’s togetherness.
We also have JJ McCarthy letting everyone know who the coach of the year is.
Despite an injury that cost him his rookie season and seeing the supposed bridge quarterback have unbelievable success, the Vikings rookie also professed his love for the team on the X app. If you look closely during the euphoria of the Darnold locker room celebrations, McCarthy is front and center, speaking volumes for the culture O’Connell has created in Minnesota.
Speaking of the coach, O’Connell’s message stays the same in the locker room speech. One and 0.
Hall of Famers Paul Krause and Carl Eller were in attendance for the big game.
There is nothing better than seeing former Vikings greats basking in the glory of the current team. Former Vikings WR Jake Reed is among the most vocal on social media. He expressed his excitement at the conclusion of the game.
Former punter Greg Coleman has praise for the 14 wins with number 14.
Robert Smith poked fun at the stressful end to what looked like a comfortable win. Minnesota just has a way of always making it close.
And Finally…
Not a Vikings player, but Pat McAfee declared the Minnesota Vikings are awesome on his show on Monday.
