Here is a selection of Vikings players’ reactions to the win over the Bears.

Jonathan took his fine form on the field off the field after the game, cooking the Bears players for mocking the skol chant in celebration and then going on to lose the game by three scores. It has become “a thing” that mocking the skol chant always ends badly for the opposition, and so it proved again. Teams might want to shelve that idea going forward.Β

He also had a wonderful post-game conversation with Darren Wolfson that revealed the understanding nature of his wife. “I tell everybody that a strip sack is the best feeling in the world. Sorry to my wife, by the way.”

“Do you really mean that?”

Jonathan Greenard: “100 percent. She knows.”

Wolfson also spoke with safety duo Cam Bynum and Harrison Smith. The Hitman was particularly irked about one missed opportunity for an interception. Greenard himself was singled out for special praise by Pro Football Focus after the game. In what has been an excellent free agency class this year for the Vikings, Greenard has been the standout.

Support for Randy Moss

Randy Moss revealed this week that he has been battling cancer. It was no surprise to see the whole Vikings organization using their platform in primetime to make a huge show of support for the Vikings legend. Speaking about what Moss means to everyone connected to the Vikings, head coach Kevin O’Connell said that he pitched the idea of getting Moss teammates to bring out his shirt before the game at the coin toss as a show of support. It was a great touch with Cris Carter and Jake Reed doing the honors.

Carter also spoke excellently of his former teammate as the whole NFL world hopes and prays that Randy can be back at US Bank Stadium himself in the future.

Justin Jefferson also spoke about what Moss meant to him and the generation β€” like myself β€” that grew up watching Moss transform the game that we love.

More Player Reactions

Understandably, the Vikings players were in a jubilant mood after another win and in front of the prime-time camera. Even former Vikings RB Robert Smith got in on the act and had fun with the Vikings’ mascot, Viktor the Viking.

Coach O’Connell has his troops fired up for a push at greatness, as evidenced in his latest post-game locker room speech.

Whatever the expectations were coming into the season, the Vikings are in the mix at the business end of the season. Over the coming weeks, there are some massive games.

Finally, it’s Happy Holidays from Justin Jefferson.
