The Minnesota Vikings made a total of seven selections during the 2024 NFL Draft.

So far, five of those Vikings draft picks have signed rookie contracts, thus solidifying their status as Vikings for the summer and potentially years to come. CB Khyree Jackson became the latest to sign his deal after inking a contract on Tuesday. However, two of the selections remain unsigned.

QB J.J. McCarthy (R1, P10)

J.J. McCarthy became the highest-selected QB in Vikings franchise history this year after Minnesota took him with the 10th overall pick. The 21-year-old is coming off a national championship season with the Michigan Wolverines.

As of now, Minnesota’s top draft pick remains unsigned. This isn’t necessarily a big deal, though. In fact, only two of the six quarterbacks to be selected in the first round of April’s draft have signed contracts with their new teams. Bo Nix did so shortly after the draft, and Drake Maye signed his on Tuesday. McCarthy is joined by Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, and Michael Penix as the first-round QBs yet to sign deals.

OLB Dallas Turner (R1, P17)

In addition to McCarthy, the Vikings also have yet to finalize a contract with their other first-round selection, Dallas Turner. The Alabama product was selected by Minnesota with the 17th overall pick after the Vikings conducted a trade up the board with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Again, Turner’s lack of a contract should not be viewed as a concern at this point. Turner is one of the 10 players selected in the top 20 picks to not have a new deal in place. Only 13 total first-rounders have put ink to paper so far this spring at the time of this article being written.
