The Winter Warrior Debuts.

On one of the most anticipated uniform days for the Minnesota Vikings, the Winter Warrior finally debuts. The franchise’s new color scheme was extremely well-received, and now we’ll see how they look for the first time on the field.

U.S. Bank Stadium has become synonymous with the bold north. Intro videos for the past few seasons have shown Vikings teams of old playing outside. During the Skol chant, fake snow trickles throughout the seating bowl. This environment produces one of the best home-field advantages in sports.

For the first time, there is a whiteout color scheme to go with it. Fans have seen the Vikings wear white uniforms previously. The purple and yellow piping have often accented those threads and somewhat detract from the crisp monochromatic tone. This time, silver is just a muted version of the main color, and the purple only sets things off.

This will be the first time that Minnesota has worn a white lid. The Winter Warrior helmet’s matte look couldn’t be more well done. The center stripe, which utilizes the purple and silver accents, is perfect, and its simplicity works so well.

Minnesota is going all out for the contest. Winter Warrior uniform towels will greet fans at their seats, and everyone in attendance is being asked to wear white. It should be a truly electric environment for a game against a Chicago Bears team ready to be beat. The Vikings can pick up their 12th win of the season, and they’ll knock off a division foe for the second time in doing so.

Chicago has proven difficult for the Vikings in recent seasons. Even while struggling to get out of their own way, something about the Bears provides fits for Minnesota. The two teams went to overtime last month at Soldier Field. This time around, the result is expected to be more lopsided, but it remains to be seen if Kevin O’Connell’s squad can capitalize on that assumption.

The biggest guarantee on Monday night is that the Vikings will look incredible when they take the field. It remains to be seen how well they will uphold that standard after the opening kickoff is sent away.
