The Vikings have lost twice in a row after a fanciful 5-0 start, and onlookers desperately want the team to rediscover its winning ways.

This weekend, Minnesota will face a .500 Colts team led by veteran passer Joe Flacco — a club that also needs a dub to keep pace in the AFC’s playoff chase.

Sporting News’ Vinnie Iyer picked the Vikings to defeat Indianapolis, 27-20, and explained: “Anthony Richardson is trying to keep the starting job over Joe Flacco, but the only thing he offers is a rushing threat to help Jonathan Taylor’s running out of the backfield. The slumping sophomore QB won’t avoid the pressure and turnover-focused attack of the Vikings. On the flip side, Sam Darnold can attack another secondary that cannot stop Justin Jefferson or any of Minnesota’s downfield receivers.”

The Vikings are favored to prevail by five points against the Colts. Minnesota has a Top 3 defense per DVOA and EPA/Play through eight weeks.

The Vikings have a 78% chance of reaching the postseason per DVOA. Indianapolis checks in around 39% per the same metric.
