The P/PTSD Perspective: October 19th, 2024

1) Vikings Say Goodbye to a Promising, Young Defensive Lineman: For a time, the open roster slot looked like it could end up going to T.J. Hockenson. Re-adding Cam Akers, though, puts Minnesota back up to 53 players. Jalen Redmond has since been kicked over to the practice squad, meaning Minnesota gets to keep working with the promising d-lineman.

2) The Aaron Jones Injury Prognosis Appears Positive: The simple fact that he was getting a bit of on-field work was a positive, especially when partnered with the early optimism. However, more recent news has pointed toward a bit more caution with the RB1.

3) Vikings Snag Some O-Line Reinforcements: Getting Dalton Risner back is undoubtedly a positive for the Vikings. The veteran guard has been playing on the left side for the duration of his NFL career but there’s no shortage of speculation about him potentially hopping into the right guard spot. Stay tuned.

4) Promising Vikings Defender Returns to Franchise After Short Absence: Good news. Get the young DT back into the building and keep building up his game. Guys like Jonathan Bullard and Jerry Tillery are a bit further along in their careers, so having some youthful options to develop is a good thing.

5) The Aaron Jones Injury Situation Takes a Couple of Turns: Safe to say that there was some uncertainty throughout the week. The runner has been trying to get himself into a position where he’ll be ready. Minnesota’s priority is going to be 2024 in its entirety and not just Week 7 of 2024.
