PurplePTSD works in partnership with Vikings Territory, similarly doing their utmost to offer top-notch coverage of the Minnesota Vikings. As a result, we’re promoting five of their top articles of the past week in “The P/PTSD Perspective.” Take a peek at some of their best stuff.

The P/PTSD Perspective: August 31st, 2024

1) Dalvin Cook is on the Move: In the end, the relationship with the Cowboys became official. Dalvin Cook will now be working with Mike Zimmer once again. The Cowboys again look like one of the most talented rosters in the NFL but it’s anyone’s guess if they’ll able to turn that talent into a legit playoff run.

2) There’s the First Stunner of Vikings Roster Cuts: Very few, if any, roster projections didn’t have Kene Nwangwu included. The super fast kickoff returner figured to have a renewed sense of importance on special teams and at least a small role on offense. Instead, Minnesota moved on from the Spielman pick.

3) Fan Favorite Vikings Defender Gets Released: Duke Shelley put together a wonderful 2022 season. So much of that magic emanated from the simple fact that Ed Donatell’s defense struggled so mightily. Seeing the smaller corner go toe-to-toe with much larger receivers — and often win — was a breath of fresh air.

4) Exiled Viking Claimed Off Waivers: At first, that was true. The New Orleans Saints — a team with several Vikings connections — made the move for the speedster. More recent reports, though, have suggested there was an issue with the physical, leading to free agency for Mr. Nwangwu.

5) The Vikings Will be Making a Mistake if they Cut a Particular Player: At first, the mistake was avoided. But then Brett Rypien became available and all heck broke loose (so to speak). Jaren Hall has been waived and the hope is that he’ll return but we’ll see what happens. Hard not to think Minnesota is playing with fire on this one.
