PurplePTSD works in partnership with Vikings Territory, similarly doing their utmost to offer top-notch coverage of the Minnesota Vikings. As a result, we’re promoting five of their top articles of the past week in “The P/PTSD Perspective.” Take a peek at some of their best stuff.

The P/PTSD Perspective: October 12th, 2024

1) Vikings Defense Snags a Boost Ahead of Jets Battle: In the end, the boost was needed. After all, we’re talking about a 23-17 game, so every little bit of help was needed. Plus, Ivan Pace Jr. made a difference on the field, making plays behind the line of scrimmage.

2) Going into the Bye, the Vikings Have a Problem to Solve: Ty Chandler doesn’t lack for speed. Or talent. What has been missing, though, has been consistent production on the ground. He had a wonderful Week 2 but has otherwise struggled. Can the team figure out a way to get him going after the bye? If so, then Minnesota will be even more dangerous.

3) Vikings HC Has His “Fingers Crossed” for Injured Star Playmaker: The official word from Kevin O’Connell is that Aaron Jones is week to week. In other words, missing the Week 7 Lions tilt is a realistic outcome even as there’s a broader state of optimism about Jones returning before too long. Minnesota tends to be cautious with injuries, so missing a game or two wouldn’t be a shock.

4) Don’t Forget The Vikings’ Other Injury from Week 5: Losing Akayleb Evans isn’t on the same level as losing Aaron Jones, but it still stings. The third-year corner has been doing some good things as a gunner and is the CB4. In time, perhaps, he could reclaim a starting role (2025). Does he make it back in time for Week 7?

5) An All Pro, 1st-Round Linebacker Just Hit Free Agency if the Vikings Want to Take a Shot: The thinking is simply that no assets will be needed — as in, no draft picks in a trade — beyond just some minimal cap space to onboard the former No. 5 pick. Plus, the GM has shown an affinity for bringing in players who were scooped up high in the draft.
