Our Official Prediction: Vikings at Seahawks
Minnesota defeated the Chicago Bears by a score of 30-12 on Monday Night Football, the club’s seventh straight win. The win maintained Minnesota’s seven-game streak and increased the 2024 win-loss standing to 12-2.
This Sunday, the Vikings are on the road to battle the 8-6 Seahawks, a squad vying for control of the NFC West with the Los Angeles Rams and Arizona Cardinals.
The writers at VikingsTerritory predict Minnesota will win its 13th game of the season.
Writers mostly chose the Vikings, evidently confident that the Vikings’ 12-2 record will climb to 13-2.
Here’s how the panel sees the score for Week 16:
Dustin Baker: Vikings Win, 30-24
Brevan Bane: Vikings Win, 26-21
Sean Borman: Seahawks Win, 27-26
Janik Eckardt: Vikings Win, 24-20
Josh Frey: Seahawks Win, 24-20
Henrique Gucciardi: Vikings Win, 27-17
Wes Johnson: Vikings Win, 23-20
Kyle Joudry: Vikings Win, 30-24
Adam New: Vikings Win, 30-21
Ted Schwerzler: Vikings Win, 24-17
Ali Siddiqui: Seahawks Win, 23-20
Cole Smith: Vikings Win, 30-20
Mathematically en masse, we predict the Vikings will top the Seahawks by a score of 26-21.
And 2024 season standings for our writers’ predictions:
Henrique Gucciardi: 12-2
Wes Johnson: 12-2
Ted Schwerzler: 12-2
Ali Siddiqui: 11-3
Kyle Joudry: 11-3
Cole Smith: 11-3
Brevan Bane: 10-4
Janik Eckardt: 10-4
Josh Frey: 10-4
Dustin Baker: 9-5
Sean Borman: 9-5
Adam New: 9-5
In Week 15, Ted Schwerzler most accurately predicted the outcome of Vikings-Bears. He forecasted an 18-point win for Minnesota, and it won by 18.
The Vikings are favored to prevail by three points against the Seahawks, and if so, Minnesota would be one step closer to securing homefield advantage throughout the postseason. If the Vikings win their next three games, all purple playoff games will occur at U.S. Bank Stadium.
USA Today’s Tyler Dragon picked the Vikings over the Seahawks, too, 25-21. “Geno Smith is banged up after a blowout loss to Green Bay. It doesn’t get any easier for Seattle as they face another top NFC North club. Justin Jefferson showed Randy Moss some love in Week 15. Look for Jefferson to have another Moss tribute in the end zone,” he wrote.
The Vikings haven’t won a game at Seattle in 18 years, losing five straight matchups in the city and representing one of the franchise’s strangest droughts.
The Seahawks will be desperate, as a loss would sink their playoff hopes from 23% to roughly 15%.
