Our Official Prediction: Falcons at Vikings

Minnesota defeated the Arizona Cardinals by a score of 23-22 last weekend, the club’s fifth straight win. The win maintained Minnesota’s winning streak and increased the 2024 win-loss standing to 10-2.

This weekend, the Vikings are at home to battle the 6-6 Falcons, a struggling squad still hoping to win the NFC South.

The writers at VikingsTerritory predict Minnesota will win its 11th game of the season.

Writers mostly chose the Vikings, evidently confident that the Vikings’ 10-2 record will climb to 11-2.

Here’s how the panel sees the score for Week 14:

Dustin Baker: Vikings Win, 31-24
Brevan Bane: Falcons Win, 28-24
Sean Borman: Vikings Win, 41-28
Janik Eckardt: Vikings Win, 24-20
Josh Frey: Vikings Win, 28-17
Henrique Gucciardi: Vikings Win, 23-12
Wes Johnson: Vikings Win, 30-13
Kyle Joudry: Vikings Win, 28-17
Adam New: Vikings Win, 30-20
Ted Schwerzler: Vikings Win, 30-28
Ali Siddiqui:
Vikings Win, 34-23
Cole Smith: Vikings Win, 24-14

Mathematically en masse, we predict the Vikings will top the Falcons by a score of 30-21.

In Week 13, Sean Borman most accurately predicted the outcome of Vikings-Cardinals. He forecasted a one-point win for Minnesota, and it won by one.

The Vikings are favored to prevail by six points against the Falcons, and if so, Minnesota would come within centimeters of clinching a playoff spot.

USA Today’s Lorenzo Reyes picked the Vikings over the Falcons, too, 21-18. “Minnesota has been putting teams away, though they haven’t necessarily been winning convincingly, at least as of late. The Falcons have lost three in a row and have failed to cover each of those, so I’m expecting a bit of a course correction — especially because the Buccaneers are right on their trail in the race for the NFC South,” he wrote.

If Minnesota wins the contest and gets some help with a Buffalo Bills win over the Los Angeles Rams, plus a Seattle Seahawks dub over the Arizona Cardinals, the purple team will clinch a playoff berth.
