Our Official Prediction: Colts at Vikings 👀
Minnesota lost to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 9 by a score of 30-20, the club’s second of 2024 and one that sunk them to third place in the NFC North.
This weekend, the Vikings are back home to face the Colts, a squad with a .500 record that is fairly balanced on offense and defense.
The writers at VikingsTerritory predict Minnesota will win its sixth game of the season.
Writers unanimously chose the Vikings, evidently confident that the Vikings’ 5-2 record will climb to 6-2.
Here’s how the panel sees the score for Week 9:
Dustin Baker: Vikings Win, 30-17
Brevan Bane: Vikings Win, 27-10
Sean Borman: Vikings Win, 28-26
Janik Eckardt: Vikings Win, 33-10
Josh Frey: Vikings Win, 31-21
Henrique Gucciardi: Vikings Win, 27-12
Wes Johnson: Vikings Win, 34-16
Kyle Joudry: Vikings Win, 27-20
Adam New: Vikings Win, 28-20
Ted Schwerzler: Vikings Win, 27-14
Ali Siddiqui: Vikings Win, 27-17
Cole Smith: Vikings Win, 24-18
Mathematically en masse, we predict the Vikings will top the Colts by a score of 28-17.
And 2024 season standings for our writers’ predictions:
Henrique Gucciardi: 5-2
Wes Johnson: 5-2
Kyle Joudry: 5-2
Ted Schwerzler: 5-2
Brevan Bane: 4-3
Josh Frey: 4-3
Ali Siddiqui: 4-3
Cole Smith: 4-3
Dustin Baker: 3-4
Sean Borman: 3-4
Janik Eckardt: 3-4
Adam New: 2-5
In Week 7, Josh Frey most accurately predicted the outcome of Rams-Vikings. He forecasted a three-point win for Minnesota, and Los Angeles won by 1o.
The Vikings are favored to prevail by five points against the Colts, and if so, Minnesota would be right back in the driver’s seat per postseason contention.
USA Today’s Tyler Dragon picked the Vikings over the Colts, too, 28-20. “The Vikings have lost two straight games after starting the season 5-0. Justin Jefferson ranks second in the NFL in receiving yards and has 10 receptions of over 20 yards. The Colts demoted Anthony Richardson in favor of veteran Joe Flacco. Minnesota gets back on track at home,” Dragon wrote.
The Colts lead the all-time series over the Vikings with an 18-8-1 (.314) record.
