The Minnesota Vikings and Tennessee Titans have met 14 times in the histories of the two franchises. The Vikings leading the all-time series with a 9-5 record.

However, the Titans won the most recent matchup on September 27, 2020, by taking a 31-30 victory at U.S. Bank Stadium. It was also known as the game where Justin Jefferson officially burst onto the scene as he put together seven receptions for 175 yards and a touchdown in his first career start.

Prior to that game, the Vikings had won six of the previous seven matchups.

Vikings Spotlight Player: CB Byron Murphy

Throughout the entirety of the 2024 season, Byron Murphy has been a crucial piece of Minnesota’s defensive success. The cornerback has totaled eight passes defended and has already tied a career-high for interceptions in a single season with four through the first nine games.

Now, Murphy will have another chance to shine against a Titans wide receiver group that includes a couple notable names like Tyler Boyd and Calvin Ridley.

Titans Spotlight Player: DT T’Vondre Sweat

Tennessee Titans defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat (93) takes the field before their game against the New England Patriots at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn., Sunday, Nov. 3, 2024.

Many NFL fans were introduced to T’Vondre Sweat during this past draft cycle when the massive 6’4″ 362-pound defensive tackle came into the NFL out of Texas. Sweat has put together a strong rookie campaign with 26 tackles and a pair of tackles for loss, starting eight of Tennessee’s nine games.

While Sweat has not quite figured out how to be ultra effective as a pass rusher, his run stopping ability is notable. The Vikings need to be able to run the ball in order to take pressure off QB Sam Darnold, and the interior offensive line will need to be on their A-game in order to slow down the rookie.
