Minnesota Vikings Snap Counts for Week 10 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
It wasn’t pretty by any means, but the Minnesota Vikings snuck out a 12-7 victory over the Trevor Lawrence-less Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
With the victory, the Vikings move to 7-2 and continue to hold down the top Wild Card spot in the NFC. With Week 10 now in the rearview mirror and a matchup with the Tennessee Titans looming in Week 11, here are the Minnesota Vikings snap counts from that win over the Jaguars.
Offense
- LT Cam Robinson (84)
- LG Blake Brandel (84)
- C Garrett Bradbury (84)
- RG Ed Ingram (84)
- RT Brian O’Neill (84)
- QB Sam Darnold (84)
- WR Justin Jefferson (78)
- WR Jordan Addison (62)
- TE Josh Oliver (57)
- RB Aaron Jones (44)
- WR Jalen Nailor (42)
- TE T.J. Hockenson (39)
- RB Cam Akers (26)
- FB C.J. Ham (19)
- TE Johnny Mundt (18)
- RB Ty Chandler (12)
- WR Trent Sherfield (12)
- WR Brandon Powell (11)
Despite three interceptions from Sam Darnold on Sunday, the Minnesota Vikings absolutely dominated the time of possession battle in this game, holding the ball for a whopping 42 minutes and 19 seconds.
Even though T.J. Hockenson is back in full form for the Vikings, Minnesota is very clearly trying to slowly work him back into the lineup as Josh Oliver easily held the majority of the tight end snaps on Sunday. This likely had to do with Minnesota’s 43 rushing attempts on the day as Oliver is very valuable as a blocker, but he also flashed his receiving skills once again catching four passes for 52 yards.
Defense
- CB Byron Murphy (44)
- S Harrison Smith (44)
- CB Stephon Gilmore (44)
- S Josh Metellus (43)
- OLB Jonathan Greenard (42)
- S Camryn Bynum (40)
- OLB Andrew Van Ginkel (40)

- DT Jerry Tillery (21)
- DT Jihad Ward (18)
- OLB Dallas Turner (11)
- OLB Pat Jones (10)
- CB Shaquil Griffin (10)
- DT Jalen Redmond (5)
A Vikings defense that has typically rotated players in and out throughout the game had a surprisingly limited lineup this week as only 17 players saw the field. A notable takeaway here is Dallas Turner taking over the third OLB role, narrowly edging out Pat Jones in snaps with 11 compared to Jones’ 10.
Shaquill Griffin saw his snaps significantly reduced this week as well, getting on the field for just 10 snaps on Sunday while Byron Murphy and Stephon Gilmore did not leave the field for a single play. A notable development for the Vikings moving into Week 11 as Griffin has seen his snaps progressively drop since the bye.

- OT David Quessenberry (4)

- RB Cam Akers (2)
- LB Ivan Pace (2)
- DT Jerry Tillery (2)

There were a few new names with the Vikings special teams unit this week who played crucial roles in the victory. Firstly, John Parker Romo took his first career NFL kicks this weekend with Will Reichard on the shelf for at least four weeks and was flawless, hitting all four of his field goal attempts.
Delivering the snaps for those kicks was new long snapper Jake McQuade. McQuade has had a lengthy NFL career to this point, so the expectation was that he would make things as easy as possible on Romo, and he did exactly that.
