Giants vs. Vikings History

The Giants and Vikings have met a grand total of 31 times throughout their history, including four playoff matchups. Overall, the Vikings lead the all-time series with a record of 18-13, including a Week 16 matchup during the 2022 season in which Greg Joseph sent Vikings fans home happy with a game-winning field goal.

However, a few short weeks later, New York would get their revenge by beating the Vikings in the Wild Card round of the playoffs. That is the most recent matchup between the two teams as they did not meet during the 2023 season.

Vikings Spotlight Player: WR Jalen Nailor

In the spirit of avoiding the obvious, Jalen Nailor will be a very important piece to the Vikings’ offense on Sunday. Of course, all eyes will be on QB Sam Darnold, first-round pick Dallas Turner, and a multitude of free agent acquisitions from this spring.

That being said, Nailor is one of the few returning players from the past couple years from whom we don’t really know what to expect. The third-year receiver has a golden opportunity to snatch the WR3 spot for good with a strong showing, and without T.J. Hockenson, Minnesota will need someone to take on that role.

Giants Spotlight Player: WR Malik Nabers

For the past few years, the Giants have struggled to find consistent production at the wide receiver position, and it certainly can be argued that they haven’t had a true WR1. This spring, New York selected Malik Nabers with the sixth overall pick hoping that he can change that trend.

This is a very important season for Giants QB Daniel Jones as New York could look to part ways with him at the end of the year if the team struggles. Nabers will play a key role in making Jones’ job a bit easier throughout 2024, and it gets started with a matchup against Minnesota.
