The schedule is brutal out of the gate, with the exception of the Giants in Week 1. In fact, the Giants might represent the softest spot on the schedule, not unlike the 2023 schedule when most onlookers believed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would be a somewhat simple matchup. No cigar.

The first half of the Vikings’ schedule is a murderer’s row, headlined by back-to-back home games versus the 49ers and Texans, teams forecasted by oddsmakers to tunnel deep into the postseason. A Week 5 London date with Aaron Rodgers won’t be easy, either. Although, Minnesota has never lost overseas.

Detroit-Los Angeles-Indianapolis after the early bye week could feel like a relief. However, no NFL fan would call that trio a cakewalk. After that, there’s the oddity of three consecutive road games, which doesn’t occur too frequently for Minnesota or most NFL teams. Thankfully, at Jaguars, Titans, and Bears might be the most comfortable road opponent trio on the menu.

The NFL rewards Minnesota for its long road trip with back-to-back-to-back home games starting in Week 13 — against Kyler Murray, Kirk Cousins, and Caleb Williams. The Vikings generally play a primetime game at Soldier Field, but the script is flipped in 2024.

Minnesota closes the season at Seattle, at home against the Cheese Team, and on the road in Detroit. In a weird way, it feels advantageous that Minnesota isn’t considered a Super Bowl contender at the moment. Otherwise, fans would look at the schedule and shudder.

Sportsbooks forecast Minnesota to win 6-8 games this season.
