A Look at the Vikings’ Injuries | vs. 49ers

Next up? Minnesota hosts the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium.

This week, Minnesota’s injury report remained somewhat quite clean after a bevy of devastating summer injuries.

Overall, the Vikings are moderately healthy to start the season, a tendency that isn’t necessarily widespread around the league. All the “other” Vikings injuries happened before this week.

These are each team’s injured players one day before Week 2.

Yetur Gross-Matos (DL), Aaron Banks (C), and Jauan Jennings (WR) were listed as limited participants at points this week, but all enter Sunday with no injury designation.

The Vikings are 5.5-point underdogs to the 49ers in Week 2. San Francisco hasn’t won a game in the state of Minnesota since 1992. They’ve lost seven straight at the Metrodome and U.S. Bank Stadium.

Jeffrey Becker-USA TODAY Sports.

The 49ers traveled to U.S. Bank Stadium last year with a seven-point favorite attached to the matchup and later lost by five. Minnesota prevailed on Monday Night Football thanks to Kirk Cousins in peak form, Addison’s rookie theatrics, and a suffocating defense in the second half. Kyle Shanahan’s team was also beset by injuries that game, missing left tackle Trent Williams and wide receiver Deebo Samuel.

The Vikings finished 2-6 (.250) at home last year, one of the worst single-season marks in franchise history. They’ll hope to reestablish homefield advantage this week and next.
