4 Vikings Players Who Deserve a Pro Bowl Nod
Pro Bowl voting is underway, and the Minnesota Vikings will be represented by at least a few players when the dust settles, mainly because the club has a 9-2 record through 12 weeks.
The Pro Bowl is scheduled for February 2nd, 2025, in Orlando at Camping World Stadium.
4 Vikings Players Who Deserve a Pro Bowl Nod
And while folks will debate which Vikings players deserve the nod, these four men are close to non-debatable. They’re listed in alphabetical order.
1. Jonathan Greenard (OLB)
Greenard ranks third in the NFL in quarterback pressures, trailing only Myles Garrett and Trey Hendrickson. He’s also on pace for 14 sacks during his maiden voyage season in Minnesota.
The ex-Houston Texan has directly replaced Danielle Hunter’s fantastic production from 2015 to 2023, and Greenard is even more affordable than Hunter’s current price in Houston.
Greenard is on a Pro Bowl pace in 2024. Like the other men on this list, his case will be aided by Minnesota’s winning record. Voters love awarding playoff-bound teams with Pro Bowl nods.
2. Justin Jefferson (WR)
Anything relating to Jefferson and Pro Bowls — or stardom, in general — is basically “no caption needed” territory.
For reference, though, know that Jefferson is on pace for 1,451 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns. That’s automatic Pro Bowl entry.
3. Brian O’Neill (RT)
With an 85.0 PFF grade, O’Neill is ranked as the league’s sixth-best offensive tackle. He may be scripting his best season as a pro.
And his performance is vital because Minnesota is down one tackle with Christian Darrisaw out.
O’Neill should be a shoo-in for the Pro Bowl. Anything otherwise would be a little outrageous.
4. Andrew Van Ginkel (OLB)
Van Ginkel does a little of everything: sacking quarterbacks, stopping running backs for losses, returning interceptions for touchdowns, and defending pass-catchers in the middle of the field.
Thankfully, he’s turned heads because of the touchdowns. He has an honest-to-goodness chance of reaching the Pro Bowl.
The Vikings signed Van Ginkel to a two-year, $20 million deal in March, and it might be the best non-rookie contract on the team’s ledger. Van Ginkel never really has quiet games and sometimes seems involved in every defensive play. He’s a machine that deserves his first Pro Bowl nod.
