4 Vikings Lead the Way via Pro Bowl Voting
The NFL’s Pro Bowl voting is well underway, and with the Minnesota Vikings owning a 10-2 record, multiple players will ultimately get the nod.
4 Vikings Lead the Way via Pro Bowl Voting
Early voting results indicate that Minnesota is sitting pretty per Pro Bowl representation. In fact, four players the lead the way at their position.
These are those men listed alphabetically.
1. Andrew DePaola (LS)
Even with an injury sidelining him for four weeks, DePaola leads the NFC in long-snapper Pro Bowl votes. That’s quite a testament to his reputation — and Vikings fans’ voting habits.
DePaola is scheduled to return this weekend for the tilt against the Atlanta Falcons, though he’s officially listed as questionable. Most expect him to play.
If the Pro Bowl momentum comes to fruition, it’ll be the third nod for DePaola.
2. Justin Jefferson (WR)
The Vikings’ best player without any debates from anybody — will head to another Pro Bowl, tabulating four in his young career.
Jefferson missed the cut last year because of an injured hamstring and a seven-game absence.
But that won’t happen in 2024. Jefferson leads the way in Pro Bowl voting among NFC wide receivers and is on pace for 1,471 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns. The guy’s a machine.
3. Byron Murphy (CB)
Murphy has tabulated 5 interceptions in 2024 — all of them pretty damn crucial and pivotal — while showcasing a sweet 81.6 passer-rating-against.
Minnesota made Murphy its keynote defensive secondary signing in 2023, and during his first season, Murphy played in a decent category. Now, he’s playing at a Pro Bowl level.
Folks are noticing, too. He’s the top dog in the NFC’s Pro Bowl CB voting.
4. Andrew Van Ginkel (OLB)
Van Ginkel has already scored 2 defensive touchdowns in 2024, his first season as a Viking. And while those transactions were spectacular, they don’t begin to describe his effect on the franchise. He does it all.
The 29-year-old has notched 59 total tackles, 15 quarterback hits, 15 tackles for loss, 9 sacks, 2 interceptions, 2 touchdowns, and a forced fumble. He and his counterpart, Jonathan Greenard, are playing so efficiently that 1st-Rounder Dallas Turner doesn’t see the field as much as fans expected when the season kicked off.
He’s the NFC’s top vote-getter at outside linebacker.
