So, with that showdown around the bend, these are three bold predictions for Vikings-Jets.
1. Garrett Wilson Scored at Least 2 TDs
Jets fans have speculated and daydreamed for a year and a half about Aaron Rodgers further unlocking Wilson’s skill set, but then 2024 arrived, and Wilson’s production has slowed, if that can be believed.
Per his usual modus operandi, he’s probably sitting on a breakout game sometime in the next few weeks, so we expect Wilson to score against the Vikings. And as a bold prediction, we suggest two paydirts for Wilson, as his 2024 campaign will get back on track.
For now, he’s trending to accumulate about 800 receiving yards this season, which is a WR3’s stat line.
2. Vikings Defense Scores a Safety
What hasn’t the Vikings’ defense done yet?
Let’s go with a safety on Aaron Rodgers, who will get trapped in his endzone and dragged down by Jonathan Greenard this weekend. Brian Flores’ group has displayed a knack for versatility, so a safety should be on the bingo board.
The purple defense hasn’t logged a safety since the 2020 season. They’re due.
3. The Vikings Lose
This game poses problems for the Vikings in four directions.
1. The Jets’ defense is on the same level as the Vikings’ and might be the toughest challenge to date in 2024.
2. The Jets are desperate after losing to the lowly Broncos and arguably need a dub more than Minnesota.
3. Minnesota played a little shaky in the 2nd Half of the game at Green Bay, and if that persists, New York can steal one.
4. Aaron Rodgers knows the Vikings and about 40% of the defensive personnel.
And if this little [unfavorable] prediction rang true, Minnesota could walk into the bye week a bit humbled, forcing the team to refocus after the break when the Detroit Lions come to Minnesota for control of the NFC North.
