3 Bold Predictions for Bears-Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings have remained in the league’s Top 10 Super Bowl odds, a totally bizarre ordeal after Minnesota was expected to win about six or seven games in 2024.

That’s the benefit of an 8-2 start. Minnesota has won three straight after a two-game, post-bye losing skid and appears to be back on track.

So, with the Vikings’ meeting with the Chicago Bears just around the bend, these are three bold predictions for Bears-Vikings.

1. Caleb Williams Has at Least One Signature Moment

Caleb Williams won’t morph into a forever Pro Bowler against the Vikings on Sunday, but against his new rival, he’ll probably fire up a sweet moment that shows the world why Chicago loves him.

That feels like Vikings luck.

Whether a single mind-boggling play, a clutch moment that Chicago desperately needs at 4-6, or both — Williams will author a moment that makes Bears fans rejoice and Vikings faithful shake their heads.

2. Aaron Jones Posts 100+ Yards Rushing and a TD

For some reason, the Bears rushing defense is utterly horrid. An otherwise good defense, it ranks 31st per rushing defense DVOA.

Chicago may be able to stifle Sam Darnold, Justin Jefferson, and Jordan Addison to an extent, but Aaron Jones and Cam Akers should feast.

Jones is overdue for a splashy game, hopefully returning to September form when he acted like the straw that stirred the drink on offense. He hopped off the injury report on Friday and is a full go for Bears-Vikings at Soldier Field.

It’s also worth noting that Jones knows the Bears intimately, playing against Chicago twice annually as a member of the Green Bay Packers for seven seasons. Therefore, Jones will gouge the trashy Bears rush defense, hit at least 100 yards, and score a rushing touchdown.

3. The Vikings Lose Because of Something Stupid

Like Thursday Night Football in Week 12 between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns, win-loss records won’t matter on Sunday when the Vikings and Bears hook up. Too, Chicago is desperate for a win and almost knocked off Green Bay last weekend if not for a blocked field goal.

Unfortunately, something stupid, fluky, or weird will happen, and Chicago will win Sunday by one score or less.
