Also, please note: These are opinion-based responses. Some answers will be incorrect from time to time. But we’ll try to keep that to a minimum.
Q: Who do you think the Vikings will draft with the 11th pick?
Answer: A quarterback or defensive lineman (OLB or DT). Probably a quarterback.
The Kirk Cousins era is winding down — if it isn’t done already — and Minnesota hasn’t drafted a quarterback with 1st- or 2nd-Round draft capital since 2014. It’s time, even if Cousins returns for a year or two.
On the other hand, the Vikings have two EDGE rushers under contract in 2024: Patrick Jones II and Andre Carter II. They need help at outside linebacker, undoubtedly.
For a prediction, though, give us quarterback. Either a trade up the board for Drake Maye or Jayden Daniels or a stick-and-pick at No. 11 with J.J. McCarthy.
Q: Why are we talking about Kirk Cousins’ Tuesdays off all over again? So dumb.
Answer: Because people like to find pieces of nothingness for outrage, and Kirk Cousins is divisive, on the whole.
This started last October when Pro Football Talk‘s Mike Florio chided Cousins for going to a Twins playoff game. A few months prior, Cousins revealed in a Netflix documentary he takes Tuesdays off. So, Florio questioned Cousins’ commitment to greatness for taking Tuesdays off and taking his family to a baseball game.
Fast forward to this week, and SKOR North asked former Viking Alex Boone about Tuesdays off. Boone said it was uncouth.
This is all you need to know about TuesdayGate:
Q: Think there’s any chance Josh Dobbs is back as the bridge quarterback?
A: Stranger things have happened, but, no, Dobbs probably won’t return to the Vikings in 2024.
Nick Mullens is under contract for 2024, and if the Vikings use a bridge quarterback at all, it will be Mullens or another year of Kirk Cousins. Dobbs is kind of the odd man out, only joining the Vikings last year because Cousins and Mullens were hurt.
DobbsMania will likely remain a three-week era of eternal lore. It was fun, though.
