Q: What do you think about Stefon Diggs stirring the pot for the Vikings — again?

Answer: We’re not concerned about Diggs-related drama. It’s no longer the problem of the Vikings community.

Speaking to GQ, Diggs was asked what caused his trade away from the Vikings four years ago. He replied, “Because I’m a professional. I believe in professionalism. You don’t gotta talk bad about your ex-girlfriend to your new girlfriend.”

We’d guess it’s some horror story about how rotten Rick Spielman or Mike Zimmer treated him.

Put plainly — we just don’t care anymore.

Q: Predict Aaron Jones’ stat line in 2024.

Stefon Diggs
Aaron Jones, Jonathan Greenard, Jordan Addison and Cam Bynum spoke with reporters after mandatory minicamp on Wednesday, June 5th, 2024, at TCO Performance Center. MIN signed Jones during the 2024 free agency period, a replacement for Alexander Mattison, who joined the Las Vegas Raiders roster.

Answer: Let’s go with 750 yards from scrimmage and 6 touchdowns.

We expect Jones to encounter some injury woes — that’s what happens to older running backs. And that’s why Ty Chandler is employed as a promising RB1-RB2 candidate. Plus, injuries are kind of Jones’ modus operandi as is.

Chandler will fire up a similar stat line, and Minnesota will showcase a sweet one-two punch at running back.

Q: I saw something where Josh Metellus will sign a huge extension soon. Is that true?

A: This theory came from CBS Sports.

“The former sixth-round pick isn’t necessarily on the national radar, but Vikings fans know this man as the Swiss Army knife of Minnesota’s defense,” Cody Benjamin wrote about Metellus on Wednesday.

Name-dropping Metellus was a bit strange because a) He wouldn’t make too many such lists for the next big extension in the NFL b) Safeties don’t typically break the bank like cornerbacks or players at other premium positions.

Benjamin also mentioned DK Metcalf and Rashawn Slater as candidates for massive extensions. Metellus in that group felt a little weird.

Benjamin added about Metellus, “Forever shifting between roles on the back end, be it safety or nickel corner or even linebacker, Metellus was always around the ball (116 tackles, 2.5 sacks, seven tackles for loss, five pass breakups) for Brian Flores in 2023, and Harrison Smith won’t be around forever.”

If Metellus fetches any soon-to-be extension, it will likely be next offseason. This year is not the final of his contract.
