Q: I know the Vikings are about to cut Parker Romo, so where will he end up?

parker romo
New Minnesota Kicker Parker Romo on November 10th, 2024, after helping Minnesota defeat the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road by a score of 12-7. Romo joined Minnesota in March but lost a kicking battle to rookie Will Reichard during the summer of 2024. But he rejoined the team in November when Reichard injured his quad.

Answer: We’ll say the Kansas City Chiefs, Cincinnati Bengals, or New York Jets.

The Green Bay Packers — yes, them — are also a wildcard if something happens injury-wise to Brandon McManus.

Kicker injuries have become frequent this season, meaning Romo won’t have a difficult time finding employment.

The Chiefs, Bengals, or Jets make the most sense due to existing injuries. Then, when the offseason rolls around, Romo could sign a contract and become a team’s featured kicker. He deserves it.

Q: What’s your score prediction for Vikings-Falcons?

Jeffrey Becker-Imagn Images.

Answer: 31-24 Vikings over Falcons.

The Falcons aren’t much better than the Arizona Cardinals — if at all — and Minnesota ended up taking care of business by a point over Kyler Murray and friends.

Of course, there is the Kirk Cousins “revenge” angle, but truth be told, he needs to focus on having an average game — not a revenge game with four touchdowns or something similar. Cousins has struggled tremendously in the last three games, and inconveniently for him, Sunday’s game is one of the biggest of his professional career. He must produce — avoid a fourth horrid game in a row — otherwise, Atlanta could pivot to Michael Penix Jr. for the season’s remainder.

Ultimately, Minnesota is a better football team than Atlanta. We believe Cousins will bounce back for about 230 passing yards and a couple of touchdowns while Minnesota prevails by a touchdown.

The purple team is also due for a stress-free win. Perhaps that’ll be in play.

Q: Do you think any Vikings players will win awards this season?

Jeffrey Becker-Imagn Images.

Answer: Kevin O’Connell may win Coach of the Year, but that’s the best hope.

Darnold’s MVP stock has cooled off. Saquon Barkley will win Offensive Player of the Year instead of Justin Jefferson, for example. And then Jonathan Greenard has played great — but not DPOY great.

If O’Connell’s Vikings win the NFC North, he will win COTY. That’s our prediction.
