Also, please note: These are opinion-based responses. Some answers will be incorrect from time to time. But we’ll try to keep that to a minimum.

Q: Do you think Jordan Addison will be suspended?

Dodged Bullet
Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports.

Answer: Nobody has all the information about his violation right now, but if we were absolutely forced to guess, the answer would be yes, probably.

According to California Highway Patrol, Addison blocked a lane of freeway traffic while asleep on Friday night, prompting an investigation and subsequent arrest. That doesn’t usually happen. The report also said little to nothing about Addison’s BAC, which enhanced the mystery.

Perhaps it was a medical emergency? That seems like the best-case scenario. The Vikings are well on their way to gathering facts.

Star Tribune‘s Ben Goessling shed some light on the situation on Monday. “I think the point you made, though, about DUI is a good one in the sense that the arrest report does not talk about BAC content,” Goessling said on KFAN. “If it was an edible or something and not alcohol, that’s legal in California. So that may change all of the nature of this, too. So if it’s alcohol .… I think the precedent for that is 3 games and the optics of it obviously are really bad at the moment.”

Therefore, it’s a waiting game on the details.

Q: Doesn’t it feel like the Vikings’ goodwill and vibe has gone straight to hell in recent days?

Jeffrey Becker-USA TODAY Sports

Answer: Yes.

Between Khyree Jackson’s death and Jordan Addison’s arrest, everything has soured for the Vikings, at least with a week to go before training camp.

The good news is that it’s July, and everything can be restored to optimism rather quickly at training camp. But Jackson’s tragedy will hang over the whole season, and rightfully so. The verdict is still out on Addison.

Generally speaking, yes, the vibe had nosedived within the last couple of weeks. We do not disagree.

Q: Do you think Trishton Jackson will make the 53-man roster?

Jordan Addison
Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports.

A: Probably not, but stranger things have happened. The practice squad is a familiar spot for Jackson.

However, Minnesota is starved for a WR3, and the importance of a productive third wide receiver will only spike if Addison is suspended. Brandon Powell is the frontrunner to win WR3 — otherwise Minnesota probably would’ve signed a Tyler Boyd type, for example, from free agency.

We like Jackson, as well, but he might be closer to WR6. Thankfully, we’ll start to learn about his outlook in about a week at training camp.
