The Minnesota Vikings (6-2) and Jacksonville Jaguars (2-7) will face off this Sunday at EverBank Stadium. Minnesota is coming off a much-needed 21-13 win last week against the Indianapolis Colts at home. Jacksonville lost 28-23 on the road to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Prediction for Jaguars-Vikings + Flashback

Minnesota leads the all-time series 8-1, including winning the past five meetings.

The last time these two faced each other came in 2020 at U.S. Bank Stadium.

Kirk Cousins went 28/43 for 305 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception. Dalvin Cook rushed for 120 yards on 32 carries. He also caught six passes for 59 yards. Justin Jefferson caught nine passes for 121 yards and a touchdown. Adam Thielen caught eight passes for 75 yards and a touchdown.

On defense, Eric Wilson and Todd Davis tied for a team-high 11 tackles.

“This team will fight. I do believe that. Obviously, there are a lot of things we need to clean up,” said coach Mike Zimmer, who sweated out a 28-27 win over Carolina the previous week and a 31-28 loss to Dallas prior to that.

For Jacksonville, Mike Glennon went 28/42 for 280 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions. James Robinson rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. He also caught six passes for 30 yards.

On defense, Joe Schobert recorded a game-high 12 tackles and also had an interception. Dawuane Smoot recorded two sacks.

Minnesota won 27-24. With the win, they improved to 6-6 and finished the season at 7-9, missing the playoffs for the third straight season. Jacksonville fell to 1-11 and finished 1-15, missing the playoffs for the third straight season.

Just like last week, this is a game Minnesota should win. These next four games are very winnable for them, and if they want to keep pace with the red-hot Detroit Lions, they need to keep winning games themselves. While Detroit currently has a much better chance of winning the division, it is not impossible for Minnesota to win it.

This team has been a surprise all season long and is in good shape if it keeps taking care of the teams it should. Sure, it could have used another piece at the trade deadline, but this team is good enough to not only make the playoffs but also keep pushing Detroit.
