Back in Week 4 when the Minnesota Vikings took on the New Orleans Saints in London, Vikings 2022 first-round pick, safety Lewis Cine, suffered a gruesome compound leg fracture. The injury, of course, would end his season, and it even forced the rookie to spend extra time in London while he underwent a surgery to repair the fracture.

Now, just four months later, Cine recently has been showcasing some incredible progress with his injury recovery. Take a look at these videos that the Vikings first-rounder posted on Twitter this Monday afternoon:

Yes, Lewis, it is a beautiful thing. As you can see above, the Vikings safety appears to be making some incredible progress as he goes through drills at TCO Performance Center without any added support such as a brace or even a sleeve on his injured leg. This latest batch of videos comes just three days after Cine shared this video on his Twitter feed, showing off more of his regained agility.

Cine’s injury was obviously an extremely unfortunate event that cost him much of his first NFL season before it could truly begin. In the previous two weeks before getting hurt, the rookie did not break into the lineup much, and his season finished with a grand total of two defensive snaps and 34 special teams snaps.

In the days and weeks after the injury, head coach Kevin O’Connell expressed confidence that Cine would get back on an NFL field in 2023, and it appears that we are trending towards that assessment being proven correct.

The former Georgia Bulldog was coveted by the Vikings for his superb athleticism and physicality at the safety position. There are shades of Harrison Smith in his playstyle, and it makes sense that Minnesota wanted him.

Heading into 2023, the safety remains largely an unknown because of his lack of playing time last season. Hopefully, we get to see Cine have a chance at proving why he was worth a first-round selection last April.
