The P/PTSD Perspective: August 26th, 2023

1) The Vikings Get an Up Close Look at a Top Trade Target: Well, at least part of the prediction came true. Former Arizona LB/S Isaiah Simmons did get traded. The issue? The team making the move was the New York Giants, the squad responsible for eliminating the Vikings in the most recent postseason.

2) Vikings Get a Speed Infusion as Receiver Returns to Practice: Good news for Minnesota. Sophomore WR Jalen Nailor has a role to play on this team. Yes, he’s going to be (at best) option #4 behind Jefferson, Osborn, and Addison. Nevertheless, there’s room for a burner in the Kevin O’Connell offense. Expect the former Michigan State Spartan to get onto the final team.

3) 4 Veteran Vikings on the Roster Bubble with the Final Preseason Game Approaching: Every year there are unexpected cuts. Last season’s surprises were Armon Watts and T.Y. McGill. Very few saw those moves coming. The upcoming batch of cuts will bring their own surprises, and there are several Vikings to be monitoring as the preseason gets toward its end.

4) The Vikings WR Battle Has Been Fierce: Yes, it certainly has been. Right now, it looks like there’s a trio competing for what is potentially a single open spot to remain in Minnesota. Roster trim downs must be completed by August 29th, so Minnesota’s fans will soon learn who grabs a coveted spot on the final roster.

5) Every UDFA Kwesi Adofo-Mensah Has Signed: The GM has been busy following his pair of NFL drafts. Ryan Wright stands out as a great success from the first batch of UDFAs. More recently, Ivan Pace has been shining. The undrafted LB is going both make the team and find playing time on Sundays. Pretty great deal from the Vikings’ GM.
