Our Official Staff Prediction for Saints at Vikings

The VikingsTerritory collective staff prediction for Saints at Vikings is ready.

Minnesota won in Week 9 on the road at the Atlanta Falcons 31-28, courtesy of a mythological performance by new quarterback Josh Dobbs.

Our Official Staff Prediction for Saints at Vikings

The Saints toppled the Vikings secondary foe, the Chicago Bears, 24-17. Chicago gifted New Orleans the rock five times via turnover, and the Saints somehow won by just seven points. They perhaps should’ve prevailed by 27.

The writers at VikingsTerritory predict the Vikings will win their sixth game of the season.

The group overwhelmingly chose the Vikings, probably because of the four-game win-streak momentum. Minnesota’s defense is suddenly the real deal, Dobbs is mobile and electric, and the Vikings are at home.

Here’s how the panel sees the score for Week 10:

Dustin Baker: Vikings Win, 23-17
Sean Borman: Vikings Win, 23-21
Janik Eckardt: Vikings Win, 20-16
Josh Frey: Vikings Win, 27-21
Will Goodwin: Vikings Win, 23-19
Wes Johnson: Vikings Win, 24-20
Kyle Joudry: Saints Win, 27-20
Adam New: Vikings Win, 21-17
Nate Powalie: Vikings Win, 23-19
Ted Schwerzler: Vikings Win, 24-17
Ali Siddiqui: Vikings Win, 33-24
Cole Smith: Vikings Win, 21-19

Mathematically en masse, we predict the Vikings will top the Saints by a score of 24-20.

Last week, Dustin Baker, Josh Frey, and Kyle Joudry most accurately predicted the Vikings outcome. They picked the Vikings to win by 3, and they did precisely that.

The Saints are favored to triumph by 2.5 points, as oddsmakers are skittish about Josh Dobbs’ consistency and evidently impressed by New Orleans’ defense. The Vikings also have a plethora of injuries.

Marc Lebryk-USA TODAY Sports.

Sporting News picked the Saints to defeat the Vikings, and SN’s Bill Bender explained with a 28-25 prediction, “This is a battle of 5-4 teams in the NFC playoff hunt. The Vikings are 1-3 S/U at home, which is surprising considering their reputation there. Dobbs led the comeback against the Falcons. Can he do it against another NFC South team? The Saints have not beat a team that currently has a winning record, but they are 3-2 S/U on the road. The Vikings won 28-25 last season. This time, the Saints return the favor.”

The Vikings have won four of their last six showdowns with the Saints since the start of 2017, notably eliminating New Orleans from the playoffs in 2017 and 2019.
