Our Official Staff Prediction for Chiefs at Vikings
The VikingsTerritory collective staff prediction for Chiefs at Vikings is ready.
Minnesota won in Week 4 at the Carolina Panthers, 21-13, thanks to stiff second-half defense and Justin Jefferson’s two touchdowns.
Our Official Staff Prediction for Chiefs at Vikings
The Chiefs found an ugly win in primetime over the Aaron Rodgers-less New York Jets and now enter U.S. Bank Stadium in Week 5 owners of a 3-1 record, the exact inverse of the Vikings.
The writers at VikingsTerritory predict the Vikings will lose their fourth game of the season.
Most of the group picked the Chiefs to prevail, evidently not confident that the Vikings can build on Week 4 momentum versus the Super Bowl champions
Here’s how the panel sees the score for Week 5:
Dustin Baker: Chiefs Win, 30-20
Sean Borman: Chiefs Win, 31-28
Janik Eckardt: Chiefs Win, 38-33
Josh Frey: Chiefs Win, 24-20
Will Goodwin: Chiefs Win, 33-31
Wes Johnson: Vikings Win, 31-27
Kyle Joudry: Chiefs Win, 34-26
Adam New: Chiefs Win, 27-20
Nate Powalie: Chiefs Win, 41-10
Ted Schwerzler: Chiefs Win, 28-21
Ali Siddiqui: Chiefs Win, 34-21

Mathematically en masse, we predict the Chiefs will top the Vikings by a score of 31-24.
And 2023 season standings for our writers’ predictions:

Last week, Cole Smith most accurately predicted the Vikings outcome. He picked Minnesota to win by eights points. They did precisely that.
The point spread currently favors the Chiefs at Minnesota by four points. All signs point to the Vikings inserting Garrett Bradbury back into the lineup at center, making the offensive line healthy for the first time in a month. Newcomer free-agent OG Dalton Risner could see the field, too.
Sporting News picked the Chiefs to defeat the Vikings, as well, and SN‘s Vinnie Iyer explained with a 27-23 prediction, “The Vikings can make a game of it with their playmakers and should have some more energy for their home crowd, as Mahomes will be a marked man in Minnesota. In the end, you can’t go against him making the right plays with his arms and feet in the final minutes.”
The Vikings haven’t lost three consecutive home games with fans in attendance to start a season in 51 years. They’ve lost two so far in 2023 (Buccaneers, Chargers).
