Justin Jefferson Claps Back at a Twitter Troll

Justin Jefferson has encountered a wonderful week to date.

He fetched a ’99 score’ from the EA Sports game Madden, an achievement that meant the world to him.

Justin Jefferson Claps Back at a Twitter Troll

He tweeted about the best-possible-rating development, “Y’all have no idea what it means to be a 99 in Madden!! Since I was 7y/o I been creating my own player making him a 99 and now I don’t have to????????”

So, that was the fun and non-confrontational tidbit from Jefferson’s week. But about an hour later, Jefferson mixed it up with a Green Bay Packers fan on Twitter — because that’s how it goes between Vikings and Packers personalities.

Unrelated to anything Madden, Jefferson posted to Twitter, “It’s crazy how much people hate on seeing another person succeed???????? it baffles me lmaoooo.”

And the Packers fan replied, “Post your stats from Week 17 in the 2022 NFL season.” The game was a dud for Jefferson and the Vikings at Lambeau Field.

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson (18) picks up 64 yards on a reception while being covered by Green Bay Packers safety Darnell Savage (26) during the second quarter of their game Sunday, September 11, 2022, at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minn.MARK HOFFMAN/MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL

Jefferson replied with three words to the Packer loyalist, “Post yours flunky.”

Here’s the full tweet:

Jefferson recorded just one reception for 15 yards in the game mentioned by Packers guy, by far his worst performance of 2022. The Packers thrashed the Vikings 37-10, marking back-to-back woeful performances at Lambeau Field in 2021 and 2022.

When the Vikings and Packers lock horns this season, it’ll be the first time since 1991 that a Brett Favre or Aaron Rodgers isn’t attached to Green Bay’s depth chart. The Packers traded Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets this offseason, wrapping arms around Jordan Love at QB1, an experiment that will begin to play out in September.

Jefferson, meanwhile, is awaiting a contract extension from the Vikings. He’s eligible as early as now for a new deal but still has two seasons left on his rookie contract. The extension is expected to finalize sometime this summer and will net Jefferson the largest contract in NFL history by a non-quarterback. The agreement could command $30-$35 million per season for Jefferson.

In 6 career games versus Green Bay, Jefferson has tabulated 29 receptions for 478 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns. The Vikings are 3-3 (.500) in those matchups.
