Some of the crazies, including the author of this article, attend every Minnesota Vikings home game — and even some away games.
But such is not the case for everybody, and the franchise has eight home games in 2023. Next year, it will have nine once again as ‘even years’ provide more home showdowns for NFC teams.
The Most Affordable Vikings Game You Can Attend This Year
And if you’d like to attend a Vikings home game this year on a budget, the most affordable option, at least for now, is versus the New Orleans Saints on November 12th.
At U.S. Bank Stadium against the upstart Detroit Lions on Christmas Eve is also a comparable fee to the Saints game. According to TickPick.com, prices for Vikings-Saints start around $88 per ticket. Or, if you prefer a site like StubHub, the prices start at $67, but that’s before the nasty fees.
The Vikings beat the Saints last year in a topsy-turvy game across the pond in London, the second leg of a seven-game win streak that began the week before versus the Lions. Indeed, Minnesota won every game from Week 3 to Week 10 until a beatdown suffered at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys in Week 11.
Minnesota has won the last four of six matchups against the Saints, including two playoff triumphs that gutted any last-gasp chances of Drew Brees grabbing an extra Super Bowl ring. In the 2017 season (2018 on the calendar), the Vikings authored the Minneapolis Miracle with a pass from Case Keenum to Stefon Diggs, walking off New Orleans in the Divisional Round of the postseason. Two years later, Kirk Cousins and Kyle Rudolph dispatched the Saints in their own building, this time in a Wildcard tryst. New Orleans crushed Minnesota in the Caesars Superdome on Christmas Day the following year.
Interestingly, the Saints hold the same Super Bowl odds as the Vikings heading into 2023 — +4000. New Orleans lives in an ‘easier’ division, playing teams led by Baker Mayfield, Desmond Ridder, and unproven rookie Bryce Young. They’re favored to win the NFC South in quarterback Derek Carr’s first year as QB1.
Unsurprisingly, the most expensive Vikings tickets at U.S. Bank Stadium, as of mid-May, are for games against the Kansas City Chiefs ($210) and Green Bay Packers ($150).
The Saints are 4-14 (.222) at various Vikings stadiums since 1970.
Tickets for Vikings preseason games are insanely inexpensive, starting at $6 or $7 on sites like SeatGeek.
